But, for fun, I want to ask: "What could have El-Sayed said in that video which would have made you more likely to support him?"
Reporter: “do you disavow the Muslim Brotherhood?”
El-Sayed: “absolutely. Next question.”
I wouldn’t support him. What I want to n own is why those that do were ok with any other response than this? Why attack the reporter. Twice?
I notice you didn’t ask any of them if they thought the reporters question was fair. Or if they believe Abdul when he says his family has no ties to MB.

Asking simple questions isn’t an attack although I can see why you in particular would feel that they are

My allegiance is to the United States and its Constitution. I unequivocally support freedom of speech, freedom of religion—including the right to leave or criticize any religion—equal rights for women, and equal protection under the law.
I reject radical Islam, Islamist extremism, and the Muslim Brotherhood. I reject any political movement that seeks to impose Islamic religious authority on others or place it above our Constitution.
I oppose establishing Sharia law as the law of the United States or in anny municipality of the United States. Our government must remain secular, and no religious code may override American law or diminish anyone’s constitutional rights. Muslims, like all Americans, are free to practice their faith peacefully within those boundaries.
Muslim immigrants have the same responsibility to assimilate into American civic life as immigrants of every other religion and ethnicity: learn English, obey our laws, embrace our constitutional principles, and participate in our shared society. They can preserve their faith and cultural traditions while fully accepting those obligations.
These commitments are unconditional. I will uphold them even when doing so means confronting members of my own religious community.
I ask my detractors to consider the above and then look at my actions and statements of the past for consistency.

Maybe you should tell that to your boy Abdul. He was so offended by a simple question he whined about it when it was asked then went to social media to fire up his DSA and Muslim base. You fell for it.
You could not have Teed that up better for me. Thanks!!

If he gave this exact answer, several in this thread would say "bullshite! That's a prepared answer to a question he obviously had in advance and the guy that asked the question is obviously a plant!"
I mean, we're 80% of the way to that with the answer he gave.

Well, that’s the point of the last part of the statement. His actions and statements of the past do not support that statement.
But Ivery asked for true start that we would find compelling on face value.

No, we’re not. We’re not even 10% of the way and to argue otherwise is inane.

You might want to watch again. He was asked "will you disavow the Muslim brotherhood?"
Abdul said "sure, absolutely."
If I ask you "Will you go to the grocery store?"
And you answer "sure, absolutely."
Tell me at what point in your answer do you ACTUALLY go to the grocery store"
Words matter... Abdul's response should have been "I publicly and fully disavow the Muslim brotherhood and all their actions."
He never did that.

You’re laughing with powerman. That isn’t a flex. You teed it up. Made fun of me for doing the EXACT thing Abdul did…which you have defended for 10 pages. You’re laughing at yourself. You aren’t smart enough to realize it.

Thanks for the thoughtful response. If he had been asked "Can a Muslim be a responsible American and US Senator?" maybe he would have answered that way. I doubt he would have any problem stating what you did.
Do you think it should be against the law for a Muslim to be a US Senator?
