Hold up - im seeing people bringing up that senators dont have to go through backgrounds checks in the first place. This may be misinformation

They don't in order to be elected.
But they do in order to receive information.

This "news" post contains this line
quote:
Voters who supported El Sayed must now consider whether a senator barred from classified sessions can fulfill the full duties of the office.
So the dishonesty likelihood is high

I disagree. Republicans and conservatives who chose to not vote are the dumbest.

Trump said he didn’t need our votes, so he doesn’t need a majority

Unlike congressional staffers and many executive-branch officials, senators are not required to obtain a formal executive-branch security clearance to be eligible for classified information related to their official duties. If El-Sayed wins in November, he would not have to go through the same formal security-clearance process as many other government officials because members of Congress are generally considered eligible for access to classified information by virtue of holding elected office.

It makes sense to let any Senator elected by any state population receive any and all classified information.
Oh wait, I forgot about the 17th Amendment, ratified the same year we got the Federal Reserve. Now Senators are elected by the people.
I changed my mind. People are ignorant.

AI says this is not true. You must verify. AI says by virtue of being elected, they get the information. Is AI false? I don't know.

Well, now that's a bit surprising to me.
