Aannnnnndddd... the full Pentagon goes Anti-Southern

The other services are set to ape the Marines' policy on banning ANYTHING Confederate. It was not that long ago that such regalia was not only honored, but men such as Lee were honored with ship names in full recognition of their part of America's military tradition.
And now....
Pentagon draft policy would ban all Confederate displays
This is what all the Southerners that have fought... and died... in service to the Union... now get for their trouble. "F#&% You, Redneck, it's Radical Reconstruction after all".
Any self respecting Southerner is a fool to serve in this military now, or to allow their children to do so. Why would you serve someone that hates you? Bad enough too many of us went off to die in useless dirt wars (visited the Democratic paradise of Afghanistan or Iraq lately? What did we accomplish, besides fatter profit margins for Lockheed?). Now they want us to risk our lives AND insult us.
Let them get some thug from Chicago to fight their wars. Or some feminist that hates daddy. It'll be a reckoning when they meet a REAL military in battle one day.

I don't get the knee-jerk patriotism of Southerners on this board. This country hates you. It steals your tax dollars to give to corrupt governments around the world. It sends your kids (disproportionately I might add) to die in a 3rd world hellhole so the political class can make another billion or so. And yet, despite all of this, you are regarded as scum by many of your fellow countrymen. You are stereotyped and lampooned by the media and political establishment. And today, you are the root of all evil for half of this country's population. I myself share no cultural or historical similarities with people outside of Dixie, nor do I care to.

This frightens me ... the more I read here, the less I realized that I've ever know. I had NO idea the DS wanted Kennedy (all of them) out. I have no idea about anything I guess.

I don’t know the answer to this, but are there any other militaries in the world that display the battle flag carried against them by an enemy force?

I've had relatives fight in every war this country has had to endure back to 1776, as well as both of my brother, 3 cousins, and myself. This in includes the fight for Texas.
Even though I have taught my oldest daughter that going into the military is an honorable, and a noble path in the past, I have recently been rethinking my advice.
It's amazing how much this country has changed in the last 26yrs since I got out out of school. National pride has been replaced by something else. National resentment.
Unfortunately maybe it's because the south was always so prideful that it didn't matter who we were called on by, we would give our life to defend it.
This is what troubles me the most.... How do I apologize to my children for letting this country become like this....

Got to call it like it is. Esper is a Trump guy, Milley is a Trump guy, the new SECNAV is a Trump guy, and Trump is CIC. The Trump Administration didn't clean out the Bush/Obama Civilian riffraff in the DoD. You would figure after Kelly, McMaster, and Mattis the people in the WH would have got a clue.
