A simple solution to the Hormus Houthi mess

It's all about oil, price of energy. The US is spending the bucks to keep it flowing and Europe and India and China receive the benefit at zero cost.
Solution? Add to the price of all oil products shipped out of the US, a 20% charge. Lets the oil companies price exports however they want to, plus 20% sales tax. And back the US out of being the water way gatekeeper.
This would give US industries a 20 % energy cost advantage. Europeans and India and china would have to get off their butts to receive energy from the Middle East.

We love all our new taxes, don’t we folks?
And it’s not “Hormus”.
It’s like if AOC were a cow.

I like taxing England, France , Germany, India, China etc receiving product from the US.
I like England , France, Germany, India , china, etc paying for there share of keeping those two waterways open or paying the tribute to Iran making their energy cost higher and become less competitive.
and all you have to offer is a spelling correction. You liberals prefer to argue about spelling rather than substance. And your worship of AOC as the golden cow is a bit heretic.

It will not be long.

“I think poverty is the main reason,” the worker said. “You cannot judge everyone the same way, but when someone steals a simple item, they are probably under enormous pressure.”
It’s that pressure which could spark a nationwide breakdown – exactly the kind which have toppled nations during times of war in the past, Maleki said.

We produce enough oil for us. Why can't we create our own "oil market" that prices are independent of the world oil prices. Let the rest of the world worry about the price of Mooslum oil, they can deal with the Hormus Hooties without our $ and resources. Yes, I'm an isolationist.

Correct. But I presume this all rolls up to keeping the US dollar as the world’s reserve currency ultimately.

How is that simpler than just doing nothing and staying out of it?

OP's premise would get destroyed on the OT Lounge, where there are a bunch of O&G people. There's actually some good insight over there about the oil industry, but every thread about the oil industry on this board becomes complete amateur hour.

We tried that a couple of times....I think they refer to it as ww1 and ww2.
