If he's actually good it won't matter.

Ellisville police said it was influenced by a synthetic drug known as Cob, which severely alters one’s mental state. (A detailed story about Cob is on Page A12).

That will usually get you are reduction to manslaughter if you are that wrecked. Better hope he has a blood test that shows how screwed up he could have been if they have witnesses that say he chased the guy down to kill him.

"Cob" (sometimes stylized as COB) is a street name for a dangerous, unregulated synthetic cannabinoid found in vape products, particularly in parts of Mississippi as of mid-2026.

Holy shite! That is insanely specific.

The DEA classifies it as a potent synthetic cannabinoid (PINACA) that binds more strongly to brain receptors than natural cannabis.Effects: Highly unpredictable, causing severe paranoia, hallucinations, seizures, and brief psychotic episodes.Safety: Because it is entirely unregulated, users do not know what chemicals they are putting into their bodies.

This is wild. If, and I stress IF, these guys were friends, this is what he was on with no idea what he was taking, and is the reason he went nuts and killed his friend, he may very well have a decent case for his defense.

For those who inevitably jump to me being some bleeding-heart liberal who wants to defend black criminals, frick off and read my post history.

Texaco merged with Chevron a long time ago. I haven't seen a Texaco sign in 20 years.

2001

Chevron owns the brand and it is still used "in Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, California, and other states" according to Copilot.

My high school (a gazillion years ago) played them (South Jones) in baseball. We played the other Jones County schools (NE and NW) in both football and baseball. I no longer live down that way so have lost touch with those schools. Wasted football talent, apparently, but hate, anger and violence is just out of control. They were both 16? Hell, I was watching Andy Griffith if I wasn't outside playing football or baseball when school was out.

If he signs with Ole Miss, they can probably get the trial moved to Calhoun County.

What's dumb about it? There's a non zero chance he's illegal. If he is, then good shoot.

The new American norm - if you're a young black man in this country and you don't like someone - you just kill'um. Then use the "O.J. Simpson" tactic - get yourself a high dollar democrat or black attorney and plead racism (hint: a democrat judge presiding over the case - a definite plus).

Yep, this young man has one thing going for him - he's a talented D1 football player. Heck the NCAA might even chip in to pay for his legal team......as long as he doesn't commit to an SEC school.

FACT - decades of democrat social policy has produced legions of young black men (and white) lacking in "impulse control". If it feels good to kill - then kill.

Sigh
