Time to close, Looks like 20 percent of respondents do have a rational basis. The 80 % other are pretty superficial.

In all seriousness, why not pick up a non-destructive to the country hobby? My dad does some gardening and has a greenhouse so he can grow stuff year round, he goes fishing with his equally aged buddies, he plays golf, he drives my mom crazy, he reads a book a week, he loves his pets, and he loves to visit his kids and grandkids.
There's really no excuse for contributing to making things worse instead of enjoying yourself.
