A specially appointed federal panel of judges has dismissed all 83 ethics complaints brought against Justice Brett Kavanaugh regarding his conduct at his confirmation hearings. The judges concluded that while the complaints “are serious,” there is no existing authority that allows lower court judges to investigate or discipline Supreme Court justices.

So people feel it's not ethical to fight a smear campaign designed to destroy your life, career, and your family?

Doesn't this outcome show that the talking point of "ruined his life" is simply silly? His life isn't even marginally ruined. He'll be on the SCOTUS, likely for the rest of his life - i.e. he has achieved his lifelong goal which 99.9% of aspirants will never achieve.

This whole thing is just bizarre. Roberts appointed a panel that had no jurisdiction?

He is fortunate Donald trump is president.

Any other milquetoast republican would have caved to these lunatics instead of attacking that liar.

That certainly was not decided when the reputational smears were levied with such venom on a national level.

I’d bet that to his dying day, he’ll have to look over his shoulder every time he sits down at a restaurant or stops to get gas in his car, or attends a concert, all because some crackpot, Big Scrub wannabe will harass him or worse.

True. He would have simply remained a high-level judge who was once obscure, but now with millions of supporters (and presumably still wealthy.)

The "story" is that Roberts appointed a panel that had no jurisdiction. Subsequently, that panel has confirmed that it has no jurisdiction. Maybe that is a story, but it certainly says nothing positive (or negative) about Kav himself. If anything, it appears that the panel took the charges seriously and hinted that they would have taken action if they could have.
