79% of white evangelical likely voters are supporting Trump — which is 9 percentage points higher than his support among this group at a comparable point in the 2016 election cycle, according to PRRI’s American Values Survey from September.

I think it is very possible that Trump in fact expanded his base the past 4 years.

Only 79%. I would have thought that number was much higher like in the 90% range.

So you know if 538 has it at 79% it is likely in reality much higher. Think 90%+.

75% of the electorate was evangelical in 2016 and Trump averaged 57/43 over Hillary across those groups.

If he expanded that to 65-70, Biden is done.

You would be surprised. I’m a white, Evangelical staunch Trump supporter, but I know several that won’t vote for him because of his character flaws.

In my 500+ Independent Baptist Church in small town GA, I would be shocked if there were a single person who would vote for Biden. And, as a greeter, I talk to a lot of people at the church.

There’s some woke evangelicals, too. They’re mostly young and transitioning out of the church.

WTF is up with the other 21% who are voting for Sleepy Joe? How can anyone call themselves a Christian and vote for a man who condones partial birth abortion?

Conservative Christians have no other choice really. I mean the democrats are wild leftists who have no reverence for human life (except their own).

It should be 100%! As a Christian I don't understand how any body who proclaims to be a born again Christian can support the Democratic Party. Their core values and platform are completely against God's word and nature. God is not a republican either but, Republicans values and policies fall more in line with His word.

They’re not orthodox in their doctrine and they’ve been enabled by doctrine less churches who now have to bring them to orthodoxy or pretend there is no orthodoxy.

So explain me something. Everything is showing that the Prez is polling higher in every category from the 2016 election yet almost all of the polls still have him losing. Odd ain't it?

It probably is, of actual voters. And if such a voter goes in to vote down ticket, but not for Trump, I can't see more than statistical noise votes for Biden. Maybe Kanye, abstain or write in.
