A significant percentage of our “Second Amendment advocates“ do not have the slightest understanding of the Second Amendment.

They cannot seem to grasp the notion that it guarantees the right to own and carry a firearm. It does not exempt the owner from state laws regarding the use of that firearm.

I am against the DP. Not sure why I have to be an NPC robot though. I said I was conservative not a statist boot licker who thinks government should have power to execute its citizens. Big government tyranny you seem to crave is hardly conservative.

And I think most people would agree that the 2a ultimately hinges on reasonable and responsible use of that firearm. Like it or not if people start having shoot outs in the street regularly then ultimately we will lose our rights. Thats just reality.

Funny the knock on "thugs" here seems to always be they too quickly turn to guns to settle disputes. Yet they too want to open fire on any perceived threat.

Here’s the portion that put him in jail:

quote:

B. A person may use deadly physical force under subsection A only in the defense of himself or third persons as described in sections 13-405 and 13-406.

Sounds like the guy did the "right" thing and called the cops.

Unless we're missing some facts, he's going to have a tough time defending this.

On a ranch within a mile or two of the border, I've got to think he wouldn't have had a hard time if he abided by the 3 S rule

Actually, posters here are blowing off steam. I doubt if any are as trigger-happy as they sometimes claim. On the other hand...

With my plan that wouldn't work. Poor defenseless animals would get killed or maimed with all the land mines and trip wires I want to set up.

Appears AZ law feels different. This will be thrown out.

Proof of my point about the crappy writing in the Daily Wire article. People like this see a COMPLETELY INACCURATE representation of the law, they incorporate that representation into their worldview because it is consistent with what they WANT, and they act upon it.

Read the thread. AZ law absolutely does not feel different.

Not considering the scope of illegals coming in.

quote:

But a friend of Kelly's told KOLD he has had issues with people on his property in the past, though he believes Kelly acted in the best faith.

Simply put, the excessive amount of illegal traffic at the border means that an encounter with illegals going bad for the homeowner isn't a matter of "if", it's a matter of "when". As illegals don't carry manuals detailing if they're friendly or not, asking homeowners to give the benefit of doubt to thousands is beyond the pale.

This is the difference between a person trespassing and almost constantly being under a barrage of people trespassing, breaking into property, doing damage, etc.

Sounds like the rancher should have kept a few drop guns around. That guy fired at him first.

If someone lacks enough boundaries to enter or camp on property that doesn’t belong to him, I take that as the person lacks sufficient boundaries. Meaning, he intends to do me harm. I would feel threatened. It’s the rationale behind the castle doctrine. Which apparently exists in Arizona, even tho its selected idiot aging valley girl if does it

Going to be a lot of "Christians" in this thread applauding this act of violence.
