into Trump accounts. But only kids born from 2025 to 2028 get any kind of money automatically deposited. So why in the hell would a 16 or 17 yr old teen want this bullshite? WTF am I missing and wth is going on with this administration?

Tell us you're not very smart without telling us you're not very smart.

I'll ask again, let's see if you care to answer. A 17-yr old currently in the year 2026 is being auto enrolled into a Trump account with no money being deposited into it. Why would said 17-yr old want this account with $0 in perpetuity since their is no seed money from the government?

Any company can contribute, even your company , grandparents, etc.up to age 18, and growth is tax free; it’s a great deal

Do you do any of your own research?
Those that so not qualify for the auto cash can still use the account to grow tax deferred money and then ultimately move to somewhere else once they get older.
It SHOULD start getting kids into the mindset of saving money and watching it grow. Will the 17/18 y/o in your example get a huge benefit out of it - likely not, but then people would bitch if the admin ONLY made available for little kids.

Answer the question. Not everyone pays attention to the ringmaster these days.

It can be funded from other sources and there is still the tax advantage.

Robinhood will be administering it. So in a year this teenager at 18 wont have to worry about bad credit/no credit/income preventing them from being underwritten for a brokerage account and buying crypto, stocks etc.

So you called me dumb in the rush to be the 1st poster and then you capitulate and agree that a 17 year old won't benefit much if at all? Wow, this might be a record for message boards in terms of Crawfishing.

Okay grandpa, you really got me there.

There are 71 million kids 18 or under in the US. You really think that 70 million kids are enrolled? Tell me another one.

Yes, that's what the word auto/automatically means.

Oh, I wasn't in a rush to call you dumb, just happened to be the first. I didn't say they would, I said there's the possibility that they might not, but then also provided another reasonable answer as to why the admin offers it, but you conveniently glossed over that one.
I'm certainly not crawfishing and still maintain that you're not very intelligent - mostly because you, obviously, can't read anything on your own and look for answers on here. Then, when you get responses you don't like, you attempt to discredit, instead of maybe seeing that you could be wrong and admitting as much.

You aren’t missing anything. Even the one time $1,000 deposit isnt that great. These are just standard IRA accounts. No Roth option.
For 16-17 year olds, get them started with a Roth and max it out.
