I was actually referencing a couple of American stories of current slavery that made news. I think one was in Texas and the other was up northeast... literal slave owning. I'll see if I can dig up the stories. I know at least one if not both the cases involved were NOT white peoples, so it may be hard to google.

The slaves brought from Africa were usually bought from other African tribes. Why aren't blacks seeking reparations from African countries? Also, there were blacks in America who owned slaves.

I’m shocked it isn’t higher. Honestly I could understand seeing it that way, most history classes teach European colonialism and American history and the slave trade to the colonies was established by Europeans in the New World.
However slavery existed far longer ago in the Old World. It predates the written record, but the first written reference was in the Hammurabi Code. Most old world slavery was debt slavery, punishment for crimes, or people conquered by empires/militaries. It was very prevalent in ancient Rome, Greece, Egypt, Far East and Islamic regions.
You could argue European/white people invented chattel slavery where slavery was legally encoded and slaves recorded as actual property and traded/sold in a vast market. Basically slavery existed for millenia but Europeans commercialized it like it was a commodity

This is something that’s always amused me. Look at the numbers. Ten times the number of African slaves were sold in the Spanish/Portuguese colonies (Brazil and Argentina today) as were sold in the English colonies/United States. When was the last time you heard any place in the New World outside of the current United States vilified for African slavery?
Admittedly, I don’t know much about current South America, but do people of African descent there do the same things as people of African descent here?

The dumbest thing is that some black people convert to Islam because they believe they are welcomed by that faith but the Muslims many times where the ones who sold them to the slave ships…

Nope, not true at all as plenty of slavery is going on the African countries from which provided it here.
Emmitt Smith has a documentary on tracing his roots back and was going to build a house over there and the black African contractor brought his slave workers to start it.

I’d love to see a poll on “who was the first race to end slavery.”
