I'm really hoping it doesn't happen. It would be a mistake that most people saw coming a mile away...

The neo-cons here are praying for it.

They cheered yesterday when it looked like Israel bombed thousands of citizens gathered for a protest.

I did not say that its multiple meu’s.

But you said it was 5K Marines….a MEU is about 2,500 total.

The meu sleeps on the same level as medical on LHD class ambibs and they hold about 1800 in the berthings,

There is no way an LHD is berthing 1,800 Marines in troop berthing. Maybe 1,500 with a surge. There are over 200 Officers on the flat top (LHD) between MEU staff, BLT staff, Helo Squadron and Fixed wing Det.

That’s roughly the number that is attached to a wasp class LHD. I mean, I was literally deployed on one but I guess I wouldn’t know.

They are going to hands on take that 1000lbs of 60% enriched uranium that if we leave in the Jihadist’s hands they will surely give to us in a way we don’t want it. And help Iranian locals terminate what is left of the hard core criminal Regime. We and they are blood enemies now for the duration. The die has been cast.

It has been the Iranian Islamist Regime that has us in the ME ever since they came to power. And with nukes on ballistic missiles they would own that Strait and the World economy. Not to mention Europe too within a decade.

Sadly, I am one of the MAGA many who having been strictly NO MORE Middle East war and nation building for decades that has come to realize the imminent danger of the Jihadist Mullahs. They most certainly would have nuked Israel and those Jewish subs would have then melted the whole Muslim empire. And likely still will per Biblical prophecy. Where would we be then?

I pray for the soldiers who will suffer and die and I hope that overwhelming force and an arming of the Iranian people can work out to out soldiers and the whole World’s advantage. Those insane Mullahs had to go before they ruin it for all of us. The Jews and Arabs can work out their stuff afterwards.

This ship has sailed.

This is what I think the troop build up is for, including the paratroopers. I'm guessing intelligence (US, Israeli, and cooperating Iranians) have what they think are accurate locations. I also think they know that some of the hard core IRGC will fight to the death protecting their uranium. Enter paratroopers, marines, and the discombobulator to secure the sight(s). Removal will take more time with experts. Current goal is to secure the locations.

I wouldn't say that just yet. Iran is a pretty huge country and they have tons of bases.

Just because we basically own the airspace doesn't mean every person with small arms and every military vehicle is out of the picture.

Best way to win a ground war? Never start one to begin with.

As others have said, the existing uranium Iran has must be part of the military objective in this operation.

“ Ground war? With who? Iran military wiped out.”(quote p).

Somebody is still shooting those missiles and prowling the Strait, p. We hope the Iranian (Persian) people point out the worst and deliver justice. I don’t know about the Yemens; they might be unable to handle Freedom. A lot in our Nation are now in that category.

This is where it starts. The ground war.

There isn't going to be any "ground war". If there were we would be seeing a massive build up of army, tanks, logistics, Humvees, fuel trucks, all that green pickle bull shite. What we're currently seeing is paratroopers and marines for mobility recovery and extraction. I truly believe the marines are the decoy for the IRGC to go after, focus on, and get excited about.. Meanwhile Airborne is going after the uranium.

Longer term....
The worst that might happen is President Trump and the military keeps wrecking shite for another month. Then they'll pull out even if leaving a giant sweltering wreck/carcass of a country. That's better than the organized terrorist that was around 3 months ago. The Iranian people by then will have some hard decisions to make and hopefully they've gathered enough guns and ammo to counter whatever remains of the fanatics.

US and Israel may continue feeding arms to the Iranians and some occasional air support as needed, but the majority of military involvement will be complete.

If this was an actual troop build up there would be shiploads of weapons and supplies. That hasn't happened AT ALL

Yes, they do. They deploy these very groups to two large areas twice a year and rotate in and out. While you're out 6 months, you do sit on your arse a lot. You do field ops and are always available for any kind of contingent but you do clean rifles, play spades and drink a lot of booze on a Med or West Pac cruise.

Trump has been consistent about his stance against Iran since 1980 and it hasn't changed one bit, regardless of what Tucker's Stupid Phuckers are posting.

No need for a ground invasion, we’ll just keep hammering them as they keep trying to rebuild.

If you stop this and allow them to rebuild for a few years then we’re right back where we started at the beginning.
