What are you talking about? I voted for Reagan. I'm a Reagan Republican. I, like you, long for the days of Reagan where we traded over 2500 missiles to Iran for hostages. And I might add a few years after the hostage crisis.

Why do you hate Reagan?

When you can't defend, deflect or personally attack. You're off topic.

He says as he deflects.

We are debating what is the proper way for getting hostages back. Why do you refuse to consider how the greatest American president in our lifetime got hostages back from Muslim extremists?

Why are you avoiding the issue? Why are you deflecting?

And try not to personally attack in your response.

Easy, sir. That boy is a fool. But he was also a hostage. There's a reason we wanted him back just as there's a reason he won't be greeted by a color guard and sideboys.

Reagan is the last President, that I can remember, who was worthy of voting for.

Only a real man in the Presidency can get away with something like this - Alahunter on 4/27/14 at 4:48 pm
Ronald Reagan Wearing Sweatpants On Air Force One...

Alahunter on 2/28/14 at 5:41 pm It seems it. Unfortunately, he represents the U.S.. His weakness, is America's weakness at this point. This country is repeating the 70's all over again, with the self loathing and feeling of despair. We need another Reagan to come along.

Hmmm... it seems you bring up Reagan a lot when if fits your argument but don't want him brought up when it hurts your argument.

OH and I can go on if you'd like.

members of Congress have worried in the past over the potential release of the five Taliban detainees, particularly Mohammed Fazl, a "high-risk" detainee held at Guantanamo since early 2002. Fazl is alleged to be responsible for the killing of thousands of Afghanistan's minority Shi'ite Muslims between 1998 and 2001.

A U.S. defense official, speaking on condition of anonymity, identified the five men as Fazl, Mullah Norullah Noori, Mohammed Nabi, Khairullah Khairkhwa and Abdul Haq Wasiq. Pentagon documents released by the WikiLeaks organization said all five were sent to Guantanamo in 2002, the year the detention facility opened. They were classified as "high-risk" detainees "likely to pose a threat" to the United States, its interests and allies.

Baby if I were a woman, I would hope that my present feeling of nausea I have as a gay man at the thought of bedding someone of your intellect would not change.

But back to the subject after you constant deflection... You have said multiple times you wish Reagan or someone with Reagan like qualities were president. If your wish came true, the president would be trading over 2500 missiles to Iran.

Why do you run from your beliefs?

I really can live with trading for one of our own. I know it's certainly problematic long term but, at the same time, I understand the people who support it.

In this case, I'm just a bit conflicted about it because this asswipe deserted. He wasn't "captured". Frankly, I think once he sent the "Ashamed to be an American" note and deserted, he ceased to warrant our efforts to save him.

Of course you didn't! And you wouldn't! Because it would destroy your argument. It would undercut your position re Obama's administration because them you would be admitting that your hero did far worse when faced with what to do when dealing with terrorist.

Like so many people in the right you hold Obama to a different standard than you did past presidents. You love to bring up the past when it suits you but when faced with your own hypocrisy you turn tail and run.

It's like the never ending battle you guys have with the Aubies. If Bama does it, then good. If Auburn did it, then bad. It's no different.

And you HATE for light to be shown on your hypocrisy.

And that's what this is.

Thank you for walking into this trap. You make it so easy.

What hostages was Iran holding?

ETA: In no way are the situations or "deals" similar. Seriously how are we sure these five terrorist leaders aren't going to lead future terrorist efforts? The more I read about this deal, the more sour I'm becoming.

Same here. And as far as responding to the person you did, I already responded more than I should have. Won't be making that mistake any longer. She can have her hysteria and her derailing will be ignored.

I was concerned when the news broke. Then I saw who they were demanding in the past and was concerned it could be all or some of them. Then it came out that it was all of them. Then the Prez says Qatar will be watching out for our national security. There is nothing about this that makes me feel good. I'm all for getting our boys home. But as in all wars, there are acceptable and unacceptable risks and losses. This falls into unacceptable risk, imho.
