Western sourced articles from now nearly a year ago state that Russia only had around 1400 operational tanks remaining. At the rate of losses you're claiming via this article, they should be fielding nothing but old T-72s, T-55s and even T-34s, but they're obviously not since I still see T-80s and T-90s in current videos. There's not a chance in hell that the Russians are committing their entire fleet of reasonably modern MBTs to this fight. The numbers coming from the Ukrainian side and western media are bullshite.

Tank battalion vs motorized rifle battalion is just semantics. 81 tanks lost is 81 tanks lost. 3 battalions worth of equipment and men lost is 3 battalions lost worth of equipment and men lost regardless of how you name the unit.

81 is a lot of tanks for sure.
I was just making a point about armor battalions and their make up.
For instance, 1-5 CAV was an Infantry BN with Bradley's and had zero tanks. But when I deployed with TF 1-5, there was 14 tanks of us tankers in their "high speed" unit.
