Not sure where you got that

He probably googled the country and not the state

10.6 million in GA. 32.5% are AA (3,445,000). 15% are over 65 (1,590,000). That means the the 239,822 make up 15% of the over 65 category and 7% of the AA community (If my math is right). The numbers could be legit, but like one poster said, seems like a high turn out for that demographic.

7.3m voted in 2018?

They had 3m more turnout than in a presidential election year?

You may want to reread whatever article you read.

Said active voters, not votes.

Ga SoS website, registration stats, active voters by race and gender as of November 1 2020 spreadsheet.

Column X, row 169 = 7,233,584 , total active voters.

Why is everyone freaking out. Even if those numbers are true it's only 46,361 votes more then last time. Remember they said 124% of 2016 totals. That means AA 65+ vote total for 2016 was 193,461. 46K more votes isn't going to flip a state that Trump won by 200K last time. Remember there are more repub voters too this time as well.

Gaff, Bunta & Tiguar,

Can you point me to the correct data set ? Not articles by the way, I would like to see the real numbers.

I'm just trying to track down Stacy Abrams' 800K new voters.

I don't know where this is coming up, but if I had to guess, there were voters that were "purged" off the registration database and then re-registered with her drive.

They may infact be new voters but purging 500k only netted 300k additional total individuals.

Yikes. I pulled the data from Google, which gave me the population of Georgia, the country. Sigh. I'm dumb.

More votes because of higher voter turnout but there will be a higher voter turnout for Republicans as well.

Very suspicious. But let's play nice and apply some logic. Old black people are scared AF of Covid. That wad should be shot though. Can't be many left to vote.

It's a little scary in that it seemed strange to me how long the networks held up the Georgia call in 2016. Trump won it fairly easily yet it was called very late (and very quietly) in the night.

I remember this one. ABC (or MNSBC) kept saying "too close to call" despite Trump being well ahead by double digits.

Early-voting participation in Dawson County, the deeply-conservative north Georgia territory, had already surpassed the 2016 total turnout by early Wednesday.

And Forsyth, Bryan, Greene, Rabun and Butts counties -- all Republican-leaning areas -- were on the cusp of following suit. It’s a reminder that surging turnout isn’t just happening in Democratic-friendly cities and suburbs.

And major republican strongholds have already or close to matching 2016 totals, we coming

Trump won in 2016 because he found a way to mobilize and energize a LARGE number of voters who stayed home in the 2008 and 2012 elections because McCain and Romney were both duds. If Trump is able to get the same type of turnout as 2016, as well as secure a larger portion of Black and Hispanic voters, he should overcome any early voting shenanigans the Democrats try to pull.
