JBE was very very beatable. GOP and voters shite the bed.
He would have been very beatable, but the big players in the GOP didn’t want to pollute their name in a race that could end up like this a close 51/49 race for nothing.
They are waiting in the wings until another clean cycle to run. They knew Edwards had the appeal to get him over the hump. What starts now is the 2023 race?
Who is left in the nonloon Democratic field? (Broome and Cantrell) Who comes on down for Governor on the Republican side?

Dang, Louisiana.
Just waking up and looking over the results. Republicans can't get anything done in this country and have no one to blame but themselves.

Graves, Nungesser, and Kennedy.

But who on the Democratic side?
You have Cedric Richmond, or is he too enveloped in the Washington gravy train, he is not leaving DC until he ready to lead up a civil rights group like Mark Morial.
The others like mayors Broome and LaToya are just crazy, fizzle out like a fart in the wind on the state level.
Maybe Mitch or Mary can come back out, but they need an office or platform first. 6 years is long time not to be in politics.

How you feeling this morning having essentially thrown away money?

Pretty solid defeat against trumpony.

So you are saying if the Saints lose 51 to 49 then they were solidly defeated.
I usually see +/-10 points as a good solid win or loss.

I don’t blame Abraham, he did his duty. But I blame a lot of his constituents.

Basically. The Republican field for 2023 is very talented and deep. They didn't all want to have to wait until 2027 to run.

The incumbent that won by 13 points in 2015 won by 2 points this time... solid defeat

His worst appointees are republicans and his best one is a democrat.
His appointments are all political hacks who can’t do anything other than run for office or be state workers.
No matter their party.
These people are career politicians. They have no real world or private sector experience.

I'm telling you again never trust the religious right to do the right thing.

The incumbent won by less than the number of dead voters from New Orleans that cast votes. I can’t call that a mandate

Republicans needed a better candidate than Rispone. I'm shocked he got as many votes as he did....dude had no plan or vision. Just kept saying "I'm with Trump". What a PHONEY.

It's pretty simple really.
The lawyer cartel wins again. This state is so backwards and full of hypocrites. I'm a Republican, but I'm also a personal injury attorney and voted for JBE bc I'm afraid Rispone would hurt my ability to put an addition on my house.

They only have JBE for four more years and they lost a race that was just as important as Governor with Will Crain winning the state supreme court race and that's for a term of ten years. They were backing Hans Liljeberg.
They won't be getting a big payday against oil and gas anytime soon at the state supreme court.
They also lost one of their own in Ryan Gatti after he got his arse kicked by an oil and gas executive who was endorsed by President Trump. Trump actually weighing in on a state senate race is pretty amazing to think about.
