I would bet the vast majority of these cops on patrol are guys who are either working overtime or were taken from desks/special assignments and put back on patrol. It’s pretty much impossible to recruit and graduate a class of more than 150.

That part of Chicago is a guerilla war zone. No one single thing can fix it. Residents are going to have to speak up and cooperate with police. Mamas and Daddys are going to have to step up to the plate and control their children. Law enforcement is going to have to be more vigorous (stop and frisk). The gang bangers, trouble makers, and drug dealers are going to have to be locked up. Martial law may even be necessary until authorities and the good people are once more in control.

Why not just find an abandoned mall and lock these people in them with weapons until they're all dead? By "these people" I obviously don't mean all of Chicago. That would be insane to accommodate.

It seems with the extremely restrictive gun laws there, if they would institute stop and frisk combined with a 20 year sentence for possession of a firearm without a permit and they would put the bad hombres in jail.
Yes it would cost a lot of money to house them for the next 20 years but how much do these smucks cost the citizens of Chicago with all their illegal antics? If they need more prison bed space they could stop prosecuting small amounts of weed and give those beds to the violent thugs.
At least if they are in prison you know they arent shooting kids who are standing on the sidewalk.

Dude stfu and follow the conversation. The implication was at the black culture in Chicago causes a lot of crime and it's the fault of liberal policy. My answer to this was that we've all failed collectively.
I use the fact that education levels in red states were so low to prove that no one's helping the poor cultures get out of this funk. We are all complicit in this recent surge and stupid conservative voters parroting their masters have no idea what they are actually saying.
Black culture in the United States started off as slaves, went to Jim Crow, went to unfair treatment and segregation all the way until the 1960s. Naturally, there are going to be some setbacks because of institutionalized behavior.
Pretending as if this is some liberal specific problem, when in either liberal or conservative controlled areas there are similar problems, is silly.
Does that make more sense now?

To suddenly pretend now like you're not just trying to get their votes by acting like you haven't been complicit in horrendous crimes against the black community is laughable. Again, look at the education levels and incarceration rates in Republican controlled States. How did liberals do that? fricking idiot.
