This young lady is correct.

So called adults acting like children verbally attacking them for having a differing opinion.

The children show more maturity here....

How did I miss the DawgfaninCa downvote brigade before today?

Maybe the funniest thing to happen on PT this year.

So these teens enter the public fray yelling at the sky and criticizing issues and people, and then want to be left alone from responses?

Welcome to the real world young lads and lassies. You need to learn there are different opinions and beliefs. You go public with a politically charged issue and you can expect negative and positive responses.

Do parents and society teach accountability and responsibility anymore?

I won’t question the import of her input; her voice is no less valuable than anyone else’s.

But I know this to be true: The world is going to be a troubling place for a young lady who becomes emotionally debilitated over a “like” on social media.

That attention she so obviously craves likely won’t work out for her the way she’s calculating it will. On the contrary, I’d bet it’ll be life-changing, in a not-so-good way.

She wants to play lumberjack, she's going to have to learn to handle her end of the log....

If we're talking about pop culture, sure. A 14 year led isn't allowed to vote for a very good reason.

What a couple of monsters.

Their parents must be awesome.

Just your typical Broward county suburban liberals that think the world revolves around them and are the most annoying and miserable ppl on the planet.

Listen little snowflake. When your family decides to be front and center in a movement to take rights away from US Citizens, you are gonna get pushback.

If you can’t handle it, tell your brother to STFU.

The voice of a 14 year old who has very little life experience is not as valuable as the voice of an adult who has a lot of life experience.

If someone "liking" a tweet you disagree with makes you melt, maybe you should be on social media.

This is the worst part of it all. They are trying to have it both ways: "They're courageous leaders with important ideas that must be heard, but don't dare criticize anything because they're teenagers who just went through a traumatic experience."

Of course some have taken it too far, but pretending that every disagreement is equivalent to those is dishonest.

If I'm on a train, and riding in the 4th from last railcar, and there's an accident that takes out only the last railcar, and everyone in it dies, since technically, I'm on the same train, can I now be called a 'survivor'? I mean, that's kinda close, right?

Isn't that how all these kids that were in another part of the school away from the shootings are being referred to as survivors? I mean, they were close, right?

It's like the watered down definition of any person who's ever served in the military is now an American hero, right? Even though they may have never been out of country?

I feel like some of these kids are using the 'survivor' moniker as cover to give them some sort of special status. "I'm a survivor. How dare you question me!"
