That would be an awfully absurd assumption

I didn't assume, I just stated I have no idea.

The default assumption for literally everyone here is that they don't support those groups in any way

How can you say that when there have been plenty of instances, especially over the last 6 weeks, that prove otherwise. I don't assume shite on a message board. Sorry that hurts your feelings, not sorry.

Because it's implicit and doesn't need to be stated

You like people to assume too much about you. Just because you are questioned doesn't make people stupid or dumb. It just makes you a horrible communicator.

Powerman hates being called out if you haven’t noticed. He does the assumption thing a lot to deflect. Once you realize he’s a low intelligence poster then you can be more amused and move on.

Israel is not bombing Lebanon to simply get some target practice. A terrorist organization has taken of the country of Lebanon and set up shop and shoots rockets, drones and antitank missiles into Israel killing innocent civilians and causing some of the Northern most residents of Israel to evacuate their homes. Of coarse the Israeli Government is going to respond to these threats. Any reasonable nation would. Nothing about it is controversial.

Ultimately it’s the Lebanese people responsibility in keeping its own house clean. They allow a terrorist organization to use their country and neighborhoods as a base of operations to attack another country and kill people. If they allow these terrorists to dig in to the civilian population and launch attacks then of course there will be a massive loss of civilian life. It can’t be helped. They should stand up to the terrorists themselves and throw them out of their country. It’s their country being used to attack another sovereign country. It’s their responsibility to stop it or do not complain about how many civilians are killed because they are leaving the job for someone else to do. It just a terrible fact of fighting terrorists. They will put themselves in a position to assure a massive loss of civilian life in any response. The Lebanese people allow Hezbollah to do this though. The have as much responsibility as Israel in the loss of civilians. Lebanon has an army. Get rid of these terrorists so peace can exist.

Of course Iran doesn’t want that. But that’s hardly the question.

If you don’t understand that Iran has funded Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations for decades then it’s no wonder why this war had so little support. People just have no idea.

Awesome, way to not give a shite.

I’m aware of the Lebanese Christian community - mostly. Catholic and Orthodox- and that a Christian president is mandated in the constitution. The wife of one of my best friends is from Lebanon and they are Christians.

But this is a war against Hezbollah and other terrorist groups in Lebanon who have murdered Israelis for decades. Get them out if you don’t want collateral damage when Israel strikes back. They outlawed them, sure, but get the terrorists tf out.

Let’s use Colorado for example because the numbers are similar:

Colorado has roughly the same population as Lebanon (~6 million)

Colorado also has an estimated gang population of 20,000 individuals. Many of these illegals. 200k total illegals are said to be in Colorado.

I want them all arrested and deported but wouldn’t support airstrikes in Denver, nor would I think 1,200,000 displaced Colorado residents would be a justifiable trade-off. There’s still gang members in New Mexico and other places mind you, same as the ME.

It’s about proportionality.

This isn't a valid comparison. If the cartels were shooting missiles into Texas from across the border, how would you prefer we respond?

I fully support the war. I'm arguing that Iran cannot claim Israel attacking Hezbollah is an attack on Iran because Iran does not want to take credit for all attacks carried out by Hezbollah.

Take out the cartels and use precaution to limit collateral damage

What Israel is doing is ethnically cleaning an entire region of the country so they can attempt to expand their borders. It's not simply a counterterrorism initiative.

I think a big part of the disconnect when it comes to Israel is "we" (the Christian values based West) are so wildly morally superior to them and most people are too naive or misinformed to see it.

They assume the atrocities that have been reported for decades must be fake or sensationalized because they're so out there... but unfortunately they aren't all anti Zionist propaganda. Jews don't even proselytize. They do not posses the same universal love of all people. We are not the same.

In 1948, Maronite Christians were close to 60% of the Lebanese population. Now, they're about 1/3 of the population. It's an objective fact that the creation of the state of Israel has destroyed the Christian population of Lebanon. And yet American evangelicals will side with Christ deniers before their brothers and sisters in Christ.

This is correct

The only people that support the actions of the Israelis are either unaware of their actions or are actually sick deranged people
