You think that’s what’s causing our trillions in debt?? Are we nation building again? Your display of ignorance never disappoints.
You don’t think wars in the Middle East have contributed to the national debt very directly and also indirectly?

presidents do not control the purse.
They have to sign the bills into law or they can veto them.
So, yeah, they do.
Trump actually has the distinction of having the most recent bill that he vetoed overridden by Congress in 2020. That doesn't happen often. It was a spending bill.
But pretty much every POTUS since Nixon has vetoed some budget bill or other, 'cept maybe Biden. When Clinton was in office he used a lot of line-item vetoes, but those aren't legal anymore.

zero. 0000000000. presidents do not control the purse. do you people not get this fact? Congress controls the money. we can judge everybody's intelligence with this point right here. you are not smart if you say or imply a president is responsible for national debt.
Cool. So why, exactly, did Trump state in 2016 “give me 8 years and I not only will erase the deficit, I will erase the debt”
Do you people not understand that words matter?

If we aren't talking about Trump being a positive turning point for this country 100 years from now, it means we're cooked and probably were 75 years ago.

As a guy with big balls that pulled the curtain back but ultimately did absolutely nothing long term to stop the rape of our country
