If a newspaper wants to be irresponsible, it has broad First Amendment rights to do so. If the public wishes to respond, it likewise has broad leeway in doing so.

So what we have in this case is a crowdsourced campaign serving as warning to journalists and news organizations alike. It is a shot across the bow which not only succeeded in quieting Bosman and Robertson who were tweeting prolifically about Wilson/Ferguson previously, but it got the attention of the MSM as well. The media is suddenly in near hysteria that it might come under personal or individual scrutiny. Good. Apparently that bothers you. Tough.
Just to be crystal clear, since you erroneously claimed Julie Bosman, Campbell Robertson, and the NYTimes did not include location of Wilson's home in Crestwood, here's a TDPoliBoard observation posted on the day the article was published:

Nah, one of the other sites had a notorious troll named Tom. They took off when Scott's site became a pay site. Then they banned Tom and interest fell off dramatically.
