The worst is an 8/10
One review contains spoilers so I would stay away from it, it has a Spoiler tag. Not a bad start

"The Dark Knight Rises" is emotionally inspiring, aesthetically significant and critically important for America itself - as a mirror of both sober reflection and resilient hope."

Well, you have a point there.
It's late and I'm kind of drunk so I can't be held accountable for what I say.

I really like IGN's review in that it tells you the tone and mindset you need coming into the film rather than just spoiling things. I'll put a SPOILERS tag here from the review, but this is pretty much shown in the trailer.
I liked Batman Begins a lot, but it has one major flaw: Alfred just goes with it and doesn't try to steer Bruce in different direction of darkness, misery, and self loathing. Yeah he questions him when he does his Batmobile rampage through the city, but that's really it. Alfred should have been highly reluctant to be a part of this and just giving in eventually because he can't convince him otherwise.
It's kind of why I think "Mask of the Phantasm" may be the superior origin story, because in that film Batman is basically forced to his legacy. After much struggle he indeed heeds Alfred's advice and chooses happiness and love over taking the cowl, but fate forces he and his only chance at happiness apart, and he takes up the lifelong path of vengeance. Alfred gasps in horror and shock as the boy he has raised as basically his own takes up the cowl and is encroached in darkness.
Fortunately for me, it looks like Nolan has also realized he hasn't had that scene in this series and is putting it here as well. The fact that Alfred is trying to plead with Bruce to stop the insanity and try to actually start living is relieving and I'm sure Nolan will make it the emotional highlight of the film. I think I may be looking forward to Michael Caine's performance in this film the most actually.

Alot of the reviews have pretty much the same word in all of them. Emotional. What is so emotional? Unless Alfred bites the big one

While I'm not sure which, I am sure of one thing: either Bruce or Alfred will die. I feel pretty confident in that. I won't be seeing it for another two weeks, so I may take a leave of abscense from these boards come Thursday.

Apparently David Letterman let something slip about the ending
I bet Nolan was so pissed

When is the roll call thread gonna start or have I missed it? I'm going to a marathon showing on Thursday night and taking Friday off work.
OM Landshark,
I'm sorry you're gonna miss it for a couple of weeks. I know you're as pumped up as me.

Appreciate it man, but I'll be hiking mountains and stuff like that in Central China to where I think I'll get over it pretty quickly. I'll see it July 29th I believe, so not to much longer than y'all.

Yea. Good luck with all that.
I've hiked the Himalayas. I need to find something that will actually challenge me next time.
Seriously, congrats with all that and be safe. I expect to read your review of TDKR upon your return.

Of course it has good reviews. They're gonna hype this thing up even more than the last one.
