The 10 best Metairie restaurants not in Old Metairie?

We're going through the different parts of Metro New Orleans, giving our top ten restaurants in each. Yesterday, it was Kenner's top ten restaurants. Today, it's Metairie.
Top Ten Restaurants by NOLA Metro neighborhood:
Kenner
I don't consider Old Metairie a part of Metairie. It's an extension of Uptown, IMO, or at least has become that way. It may be classist of me to separate Old Metairie, and label me a classist if you wish, but Old Metairie just ain't a piece of Metry, feel me?
What are your ten best Metairie restaurants not in Old Metairie?
10) Vincent's - My biggest complaint is that it's greasy and a tad overpriced. I've only eaten at this location twice, but both times were just as good as the Uptown location, maybe better. I got some soup in a bowl, which was great.
9) R & O's - Bruning's would have gotten this spot, but ain't dere no mo'. And yes, Brunings was in Metairie/Bucktown. Now it's the duty of R & O's to keep the fried seafood and po-boys coming. Their pizza ain't bad either.
8) Crazy Johnny's - Cheap, quick, tasty steaks with the greasiest potatoes you'll ever have. Now that it's non-smoking, it's almost a pleasure dining in. They might also have the best BBQ shrimp in town and their grilled chicken is down right great.
7) Casa Garcia - I still believe this is the most representative, down-to-earth New Orleans-Mexican restaurant. It is consistent, the service is good, clean, and the salsa and bean dip are the best in town and free. No other Mexican restaurant in town comes close occasionally to what Casa Garcia does consistently.
6) Cypress - This diminutive restaurant is cozy enough for a date, but good enough for a solo ride. I've eaten here but once, when I got the salmon. It was exceptional, as was the service. Few know about this gem and that's a shame.
5) Brooklyn Pizzeria - I waver between choosing Brooklyn or Cafe Nino as the best pizza in New Orleans Metro. Both are light years ahead of the nearest competitors. But Brooklyn might have the advantage, thanks to its fantastic, and I really mean fantastic, calzones.
4) Acropolis - Acropolis has the best Greek food in town. There are no ifs, and, or buts. It is the best. The fixed dinners, which constantly change on their sign board, are good and reasonable. Can't get enough Acropolis.
3) Ruth's Chris - Hands down the best steak in NOLA Metro. Crescent City, Steak Knife, Dickie Brennan's don't hold a candle. Nor does the Ruth's in the CBD. Why is it so good? It's been there so long, maybe longer than any other Ruth's in America. If the prices were cheaper, I would eat here once a week.
2) Shogun - Hands down the best Japanese restaurant in New Orleans Metro. The sushi chefs there probably have more combined years preparing sushi than all the other sushi chefs in the area combined. The regular table seating fare is great. It's no mistake that the Japanese community in NOLA meets at Shogun.
1) Impastato's - I believe Impastato's defines Creole Italian better than any other restaurant and they do it with flare. The five course set menu is still the best $25-30 value in town and I've yet to finish all the food in one sitting. Not only is it a lot of food, it's delicious, and the entire affair is a lot of fun.

Whereas you tend to integrate everything into a giant pile, I segregate.

No OM places would crack the top 10 regardless.

Vega and Chateau du Lac might, but that's a big might. They both taste good, but their prices are, for what they serve, outrageous.

But its kinda like saying the 10 best restaurants in Laffy, not located in downtown.
For us non-NOLA, non-METRY, non-Gretna, non-Gentilly etc, etc, it makes no sence?

I haven't been in a while, but I like Vega okay. It's nothing spectacular, though.
Radosta's is one of the best 5 poboy joints in the metro area.
Outside of those two, there's nothing really noteworthy in "Old Metarie". I haven't tried that French place in the strip with Vega's, but it's one of those places I see no reason to try.
The Indian place on Metarire Road is just sort of ehhh.

Impastato's is too high. They quality doesn't seem to be as good as alot of people want to claim it to be. That five course meal is a damn good value though. I had it this past Friday night.
You have to have Austin's on the list somewhere.

Honestly, I can't stand Austin's. The last two times I went were bad. Neither time did I get the steak, though, so maybe I should. At this point in time, Austin's wouldn't crack my top 100 list.
The fact that Mr. Ed's cracks Kenner's Top 10 at #4 and the original Mr. Ed's doesn't come close to cracking Metairie's Top 10 shows how much better the dining scene in Metairie is than it is in Kenner, IMO.

You been to either of Ralph Brennan's two rather recently added Metarie places?
Seems like those would fall along the lines of 'Why would I need to eat there?' as well.

Now I'm in a geographically segregated mood. Earlier, I was in a segregationist mood based on cuisines.

Casa Garcia is overrated.

I have not. Like you said, Why should I? I'm not the biggest fan of Ralph's on the Park, so if he can't succeed in pleasing me there, I doubt he will in Metairie. I thought his old Bacco's was a travesty. A truly terrible tourist trap of an Italian restaurant.

Cafe Equator needs to be on this list.

Someone go try the BBQ shrimp at Heritage
Let me know how shitty they are compared to Mr. B's
