I also have no shame and will get my limit with a popping cork.

Are popping corks frowned upon now or something?

To me they aren’t worth the hassle when trout fishing.

Nothing wrong with them, but I’ll make fun of ya like I do the crossbow hunters

Really? Interesting. Love it for bass but when I head to the Island it'll be both sizes of Marker 54 in pink. Big one on a free line, 2 smaller Shrimplettes tied like your basic shad rig under a 4-Horseman. I always have a She Dog topwater tied on as well. Black with the chartreuse nose generally.

I bounce the jerk model off the bottom and get some amazing strikes.

Ran a trip on Sabine lake three November’s ago, birds picking it n east pass. 2 guys weren’t fishermen so they got corks and me and 3rd guy threw plastics. We caught 2 trout out of probably 30 that morning.
I never fished with a cork before I started guiding but ya gotta do what ya gotta do some days.

I keep a broomstick with a popping cork on it. But it’s my break glass in case of emergency option.

(The emergency is what you described)
