Just wonder if any of you have had any bad experiences with this gun going off randomly with pulling the trigger. I really like the M17&18. Just can’t commit with all the uncertainty.

I wouldn’t touch one. With all the other options out there I’d just look for something else that meets your needs.

I’ve been very happy the following pistols I’ve bought:

Shadow systems XR920 Elite
Walther PDP Pro
S&P 2.0
Sig P365 Fuse
H&K VP9
H&K P30L
Beretta APX

Those are all nice selections. I just got the H&K CC9 for my new carry gun but I loved the Sig P365 and I want an H&K VP9. I’m a big H&K fan.

I’m considering the Glock 19x but I’ve never owned one and for some reason I’m just not a Glock fan.

I’m not really a Glock guy either but that shadow systems is pretty much a Glock clone but a little nicer to me.

There’s a ton of other options. What specifically do you like about the 17 and 18?

I wanted one also but went another direction on my last few buys due to all the bad press. It’s probably won’t ever happen to me but I’m not taking the chance.

It’s like when Remington had that recall or had those issues with their 700 triggers I put Timney triggers in everyone I own.

Even the guys on YouTube that are getting the 320 to fire “uncommanded” are manipulating the trigger.

I tried to get one of my 320’s to fire “uncommanded” by pulling the trigger to the wall and slapping, hitting and pushing on the slide. I of course did make sure the pistol was unloaded, but no matter what I did I could not get the pistol to fire unless I pulled the trigger all the way to the rear.

If I had to guess, it's a combination of tolerances leading to big failures occasionally with these guns. Most are probably safe, but when tolerance stacking issues happen, it's hard to know which ones are actually safe and which ones aren't.

I have one and have never had the 1st issue with it. However, I’ve not put a bunch of rounds through it. 300-400 only.

If I were buying a new pistol right now it would be the VP9. One of the best triggers of the striker fired guns. Have one and love it.

I will tell you to google Glock leg. There are plenty of lawsuits out there against Glock for the same reasons as the p320.

Based on the videos I’ve seen you would absolutely be able to tell which ones could fire when you slightly pull the trigger then mess with the slide.

I've never really been a Sig fan personally. Great company, the P320 stuff seems kind of overblown, but I definitely understand people not wanting them. AD is an AD regardless of the circumstances. You shouldn't be able to AD a pistol in a holster no matter how shitty they are.

I shoot a Prodigy competitively, have an HK VP9SK in the truck and carry a G43x. I use to compete with a Shadow Systems DR920. Wish SS, at the time, had a G43x clone...cause SS is by far and away my go to over Glock.

Just bought a PSA Dagger a few weeks ago, it's a peach.

I run two P320 Legion X-fives in matches. I have never had any issues and love this particular model. I have over 20k rounds through them. I have tried to make it misfire by recreating what I have seen on videos..
It may just be this particular Legion model but I have had zero issues.

This is 100% a holster problem and not a pistol problem.

"this gun going off randomly with pulling the trigger"...... Wtf????? If a gun is loaded w/one in the pipe and there's no safety, the damn thing should go off when pulling the trigger!!

Agreed.

Not that I go digging for it, but I still haven't seen anything posted that gives a clear indication that the pistol is unsafe.

It WAS until Canik showed up. I was not a Canik fan, but the new SFX series and TTI combat are really some of the best pistols for the money right now. My TTI combat shoots better than a few of my 2011s and it's a fraction of the cost.

I have a 320 legion and M18. Never had a problem with either. I've tried to manipulate the trigger and force an AD and I can't do it like some of the guys on youtube.

For years the 320 X5 Legion was the most popular pistol in USPSA. With thousands of competitors shooting hundreds of thousands of rounds there hasn't been one AD recorded that was not the competitors fault. That's just one organization. I know lots of guys are shooting the 320 in 3gun and tactical games as well. I personally wouldn't hesitate to buy another 320.

We're in the golden age of striker-fired handguns. Even if the P320 issues are largely overblown, why chance it with so many equally compelling options without all the baggage?

Canik is the only 9mm I buy now bc I love the triggers. My carry is a Canik MC9. My steel frame Rival is the smoothest shooting gun I’ve ever shot.

OP, with so many other options out there, including other Sig models, I wouldn’t bother with the 320

I’m the same. I went with the H&K VP9 A1F, it shoots great and is very reliable.
