Shot this badger the other day while we were out turkey hunting. Walked maybe a half mile from where we started the morning after four jakes decided not to cross the creek. We walked out of a draw after hearing a few gobbles, and the side of the hill we were going to post up on was where I shot her.

Probably wouldn't have done anything to us, but she was 10 yards away, and my buddy was about to sit under the cedar where she was hiding. Plenty of dirt turned up, so there was probably a litter in one of those burrows. It's about time for weaning anyhow, so if they weren't before Sunday morning, they are now.

Either way, it was a wild female with long claws and gnarly teeth, so yes, I felt threatened.

I work on a hog farm. I'm kinda over it by now. But yes, back when I wasn't exposed to them on a regular basis, I'd agree with you.

Yes, they're pretty terrible, too. I've heard a wolverine is god awful.

From personal experience...whale blubber and guts...takes a week to get the smell off your hands. BTW, I have been around hundreds of badgers and have never felt threatened.
