I'm not the pompano guy. I don't fish much, mainly upland bird hunt.

NOLAGT is your pompano guy. I know, all those whiskey moguls sort of look the same.

April is a peak time. Surf with pompano rig. Fish bites, then a sand flea or small piece of shrimp

Use a double pompano rig, they probably sell them at every bait and tackle shop down there. Get fish bites, I use a mix of shrimp and sand fle and tip it with some fresh dead shrimp. Cast just on the back side of the first sandbar or if that's too far, cast right behind where the waves are breaking in the surf. Look for cuts in the sandbar and fish along those as well.

Thanks, bought a bunch of those this week. Do u put sand flea on one and shrimp fish bites on the other or a little bit of both on both hooks?

Me too. Been slamming the tripletails and cobia by the buoys across from BRB the last couple weeks. I think the storm pushed them in and got them confused.

I have found it doesn't really matter. If they are there, you catch them with either. Have also caught them without any sand fleas(fish bites only) or only with sand fleas.

I usually stick one flavor on each hook tipped with some shrimp. I haven't noticed it it matters I just toss it out there and chill.
