Greatest tradition there is. Some of my fondest memories have been made with friends in a duck blind. And, as crazy as the world is these days, it's one of the few things that will remain sane.

To keep my senses sharp, so I can feed my family, when our currency collapses. No seriousy, there is something so primal(brain stemish) about hunting, I just have to do it. I think its an instict that has been a basic need for our survival in the early year, that just hasn't evolved away.

Cause I love cooking up some teal or woodducks on Saturdays while watching LSU football. Thats how my Saturdays are spent. Hunt in the morning, come home clean ducks, cook while watching the ball game.

I am an armed dog walker 99% of the time.
but there is something about being in a duck blind at sunrise and and watching bald eagles & otters fish or hunting the grasslands in South Dakota for several days and the only people you you meet are at the gas station when you are filling up with gas and It pisses off the liberal pukes.

I hunt to stay in touch with my ancestors. I spend alot of time clearing my head of the crap that clogs up the limited space available.

It is a way of life. I love the fall, for alot of reasons, but hunting and the relationships that go with it add a ton to my life. I cant imagine not renewing those relationships every year.
We all get caught up, never talk all year. Then here comes September. Dove season means a family reunion. Teal season is family reunion with my wifes side. Then comes time to brush blinds, deer stand placement. Talking about new plans for the camp. It just rolls on and on till the end of January, when you go about living, jobs, kids, etc.
Get a dude in duck or deer camp and you know more about him as a person than you can learn in years of 'regular' life.

I like to shoot stuff.....My wife does not eat ducks, but I like the action of hunting ducks. Being the wife does not eat them, I usually just keep the breast.
