I get the GM family discount. Step Dad has worked in plants in Monroe, St Louis, Kansas City, and now Arlington.

It's just amazing to me how many POS Chevys I see around. Tailgate handles missing, buttons/dash peeling, blown transmissions, etc. No other truck on the road seems as poorly built as Chevy/gmc IMO, and I used to have one.

I am a traditional Ford buyer but have bought GM products due to price.
i have bought 2013 Gmc's both diesels and 2013 V8 Sierra due to fords were noticeably higher.
I don't keep trucks long due to the hwy miles I put on them so longevity I couldn't tell you if they last.
I did notice GM does have more minor electrical quirks than any Ford I have ever owned.
Still not enough to keep me from buying GM again if the price is right.

When I bought my 2015 F150 and F250 I did give GM another look.
Ford Motor company and the Ford dealer I been using since 2003 just came in with extra rebates to beat GM on a similar product. In my case price is a big consideration.

By far, the #1 truck you see on a flatbed or the side of the road is the F250/350

Texas is not the South, it is north Mexico.

Fords don't last long enough to get to that point.

There's more 200k+ mile Chevys on the road than anything else. 200k is normal for a used Chevy. Fords go to shite long before that.

Chevys make it to that point at 60k miles. My ford has almost 90k hard miles and the inside and out looks almost brand new. And my transmission is flawless.

I've owned all of the brands mentioned excluding Chevy/GMC. Their product seems to be poorly made and the older men in my family whose always driven them all jumped ship.

Ford usally IS the flatbed, picking up the repo'd Chevy while the owner is in a drunken stupor at 2pm.

Mostly GM G-bodies with rags for gas caps and 22" wheels.

Mine will hit 210k this month. 300k will be no problem.

My current and last Fords have 430k miles between them two. Never did a thing to either
Fords are superior in the woods
