Well laddy-freakin-da

I ain’t kilt anything other than time.
But that’s gonna change here in the next few days.
I see bloodshed in the IST in the very near future.

Honestly though, congrats fellas. Really awesome to see the kids getting involved.

Every season seems to get better for me.

Joined a new club and absolutely love it.
Kids shot all of the deer this year
Kids played built forts, explored, learned to cook on the fire they learned to be boys it was spectacular.
Got to hunt with a lot of friends

Last but not least I heard a quote I will take to my grave while my seven year old was on my lap:
"Daddy I promise I am not cold I put on extra clothes this time like you told me but daddy I am shaking and I do not know why" while looking at a six point trying to get a shot on him. Fellas it doesn't get any better than that!

My best year ever
8 point Illinois
Public land in Louisiana
5 point
Doe

Considering Joe Burrow kept me out of the woods a significant amount of time. Lol

Very tough year for me. Didn’t get away to hunt early season, and the weather, especially the rain, crapped on me when I was able to go. River flooded the property and took away last 3 weeks of the season (usual rut time).

Even worse, my retired buddy that usually drops surplus venison on me had a bad season as well, so I’ll have to stretch the one I got until next year.

Middle son got his first kill a 153 lb boar. Haven’t killed a deer in our place yet this year but did see more off the stand than last year. Property is a work in progress and year round feeding has definitely held more animals. Still have till February 15 to get a buck. Gotta love the south MS 5 month deer season.

I hunted fairly hard all year with limited results.

Lots of hunts on public land in SELA.

Doe hunt with a good friend in MS before the LSU @ MSU game; 0 encounters

10 days in Illinois in November; 30+ buck encounters with no shots on shooters.

4 days in Oklahoma in December; 2 does.

4 days in Oklahoma in January (1/2-6/20)

Jan. 5th

Jan. 6th

It’s been one for the books and isn’t over yet, area 6.

Got my first black squirrel.

Over 10 hogs (lost count), one bobcat, one doe and a 5 1/2yo 7pt.

None of that touches introducing my son whom is a little over two into the woods/camp life. I can already see he has a love for my passions as I do. Got to take him on his first “hunt” and he has seen deer and hogs alive up close. Pass it on....

My season has been lackluster until Sunday. My middle son,10, killed his first deer and it was an awesome experience for us both. He was hyperventilating and jumping up and down in the stand. I’ve never seen him so excited.
We hunt our own property and wouldn’t trade that for anything. The kids are so familiar with it that they pick stands and know where to hunt with different wind directions.
We joined a club for next season that a good friend runs. I’m hoping it will bring back the excitement and sense of adventure. I’m very thankful that I get to spend quality time with my wife and kids.

We had a pretty good season.

We killed a total of 4 deer off our 80 acres. I killed 2 does, my son got a nice 7 point, and a friend killed a big 5 point.

On our leased land, my son killed a little 6 point and I killed another doe.

We let plenty of deer walk this year, but I only saw 1 rack buck, and that was opening day of the season.

I have had a decent season. Seen a lot of young deer and a few young bucks. Killed a doe last weekend in South MS.

Biggest bummer though- the buck I hit last year, who thankfully showed back up on camera, was killed. Scored 144 1/2 this year. He may have hit 150 last year though.

Didn't get much hunting or guiding in this year due to work related issues.

Was thinking about sticking this Blacktail stag, but his horn growth from last year to this has been great. Never gets hard horned and he starts new growth early so we'll see what this year brings, especially on the right side.

A friend got drawn for the Marble Mountain elk hunt and I was able to take the 10 days to find this one for him that should make the books when scored.

Zero. Buying a new house drained all the lease money. Anyone that wants to extend an invite for a baw for a doe hunt to replenish the sausage inventory would get a friend for life.

Worst year I've had in several. I let 5 young bucks walk last year only to see none of them this year. It didn't help that I took several weekends up during the prime part of our season helping my FIL with his duck blind, and the neighboring hunters spent a lot more time hunting just across my road.

I hunted around 60 hours total, and finally killed a couple of does the last two weekends just to get some meat.

Good to hear that some had success.
