Tide looks better for saturday but I can't wait to get out there tomorrow. The water temps are above 68 deg and salinites are high so hopefully the fish will be hungry. Good Luck!

I might take the kayak out on Valentine Lake Saturday afternoon.

It still amazes me that I have fished that tiny lake my entire life and that bitch caught that 15lb bass out of it last year.

I wish. We have some walking wounded that can't fish so we were going to combine a crawfish boil/fish trip. Earliest we'd know about the bugs they say would be late Friday. Too late for anyone to make plans.

Nothing hit the rat-l-trap while trolling. I drug one from the camp, through robinson canal and into the lake. Had a hell of a time dodging crab traps with a bait that far behind the boat. I did manage to pick up ten trout on the NE side of the lake fishing a shallow shoal near the bank. Took a bunch of casts but the fish were nice. Caught them with a tsunami under a cork.

the water was so shallow the trout couldn't take your cork directly under. It was more of a cork going sideways motion The water was maybe 2' deep. They seemed to be scatted in one location maybe 100x100 yds. All around 14-16" which was nice.

Turns out I'll be in Cocodrie after all. Fish the morning, not sure N or S yet, then boiling crawfish after.
Life's good this w/e.

I will be around in mechant sometime tomorrow. Going after some specks and fall back on reds if that doesn't pan out. Weather looks great with a little tide movement. Good luck to everyone this weekend.

Hitting the reds in PAC or bass in the Copasaw.

The fog is going to be a biatch in the am so I plan on leaving after I eat lunch.
