Went N out of Cocodrie, fished Lake Boudreaux Saturday after we found it in the heavy fog. Did OK, nice fish, not so many.
Sunday, beautiful weather, did OK. Everything caught was a no measurer, but they were spotty as Heck. We only fished lures and not under corks. Caught 2-18.5 and 1-20" specks though. They are there, just hard to entice.
We'll be trying S next for sure. Enough of this N lake BS.

I ran south Friday morning and found a lot of muddy water. Went back north to Boudreaux and caught about 15. Like you said they were very nice sized. Had several over 16 inches, one over 20. You can tell that it won't be long for the fishing to really turn on down there.

I went down sat night and set the crab traps. Fished this morning and could have sunk the boat with puppy drum and rat reds. It was definitely hard not to be an outlaw. Only caught 15 crabs with 12 traps.... Hopefully I can get back into lake Robinson and Boudreaux before the nice trout head to the beach.

Friday- caught 30 trout mostly under 14".
Saturday-Fog kept us at the camp til 10am ended up with 15 but had to be back at camp for 1.
Sunday-went for 2 hours caught another 15 with 4-5 over 17" and a couple of barely keeper reds.
All in all a good w/e. Some work at the camp cut into our fishing time but the trout were thick everywhere just a lot of small ones.

TT, were you guys in Mechant? If so, were the trout on the north side?

We only fished Mechant for an hour on Friday. Caught some fish on west side but water had stopped moving. Actually caught them in Raccourci(sp.?). And rest in Decade. I only saw 2 boats in Mechant and they were fishing the north bank. The water was dirty but I didn't get to see how it was around deer bayou and to the east.
I am amazed they are still in Decade.

yeah that is amazing given the recent rise in water temps. By our camp the water temp went up 10 degrees since last weekend and it felt like summer out there. I really would have thought the larger trout would have started making their way to the gulf by now. I was very surprised to see 15+ inch fish being caught in the marsh.

I had checked thurs and the water temp was 68 in sister lake. I imagine it is over 70 now. Originally we had planned on fishing the cuts in caillou bay but never made it out that far. I have to think the bigger fish are closer to the coast.
