There is another way into Mechant, it just takes a little longer. Go through Jug Lake and take a left instead of a right where you would take a right to head to Lost lake. That will put you through eagle lake and then through goose bay. Probably will cost you 20 minutes but save a potential heada...

If you were in a kayak, there are some ponds to the left of the canal right after you pass fisherman's retreat. Always figured you catch a few reds back there. ...

I will be around in mechant sometime tomorrow. Going after some specks and fall back on reds if that doesn't pan out. Weather looks great with a little tide movement. Good luck to everyone this weekend. ...

We have done something similar in Hopedale, granted this was behind a kayak. Trolled some plastics under a cork about 2-3 feet. Some days it worked great, others not so much. Probably doesn't help ya much but good luck. ...

Not sure if they are doing more work now, just in general since they started the work a few years back. That was the first time I fished Decade since 08 in the winter. A few years ago there probably would have been 80 boats in the lake.
Thought about going out to Mechant, but glad I didn't wh...

Went yesterday mainly to just run the boat, and saw about 15-20 boats in Decade so figured they had a few fish. Stopped and caught about 20 over a couple of hours. Pretty slow and the wind was really picking up. Still surprised we caught that many after the lil duece work that has been going on. ...

Just passed bec. Taking far in April. Becker seems to be worth the money so far. Working the homework problems seems to help the most since they are more difficult than the examples in the lectures....
