My wife said I'm messed up, I just want to expose her to the circle of life while she is young so it's not a suprise to her later in life. She watches us clean deer, fish, and hogs. I figured, that's how I grew up and look at me... I'm kick arse.

Here is a short one of me taunting a tank of oscars and a bull head cat. You can check out the rest of the vids I got...I have some good ones of some of the fish and setups I had.

Crushed coral is good for africans when you need high PH and hard water. Its like gravel tho it needs to be vacced during water changes. The idea is to find something dense like sand so the poo stays on the top and is picked up by the filters. I do water changes with a mag drive pump 1800g/hr and a garden hose....

Dont use play sand it floats around too much I think...use pool filter sand and you can find that at HD or lows I think.

They also have sand that is sold in pet stores that are more white than tan like the PFS. But you can also find other sands to use.

A good site to get all the fish info you need is monsterfishkeepers.com

Yea those oscars were eating machines. If you look at some of those other vids you see that catfish was a monster too...would try to eat the damn oscars. I loved that thing but it was too brutal...I raised it from a fingerling I got from someone. Raised the oscars from quarter sized too. Never could get viable fry from them tho. They were F1's meaning there parents were wild. My wild Festaes were my ATF tho...look at the vids and you will see why. Also have some vids of the 375 on there.

I use to have a 120 gallon reef tank with a 20 gallon sump and filter. It was beautiful and addicting for 5 years. Gustav rolled through and lost power for 6 days. Couldn't run the lights, filter, sump, aerators,.. along with fridge/freezer, A/C, etc.. Long story short. Tank crapped out and I lost about 8K worth of stuff. Gave up the hobby.

That's what has been keeping me away from saltwater. I'd be devastated if I lost that big of an investment

I have a 65 gallon saltwater. We love it but it is a lot of work. I only have a few fish but a lot of corals in it.

4 30LED Spot lights in 10k spectrum...gives it that MH shimmer with out all the heat and power. I ran 2 400w MH 2' off the water on my 240 african tank...there's some vids of that one too on there.

I recently bought a 125 gallon saltwater set up. Has the wooden stand, canopy, led lights, 30 gallon sump and protein skimmer. I plan on doing a reef tank but it is just live rock and a few fish right now. Have two clowns, a yellow tang, a bi-color dotty back, cleaner shrimp, lightfoot crab and some hermits and snails in it right now. It really adds to the living room and the kids really like it.

In a few years I'm going to do a reef tank, primarily soft corals and a dozen or so fish. Probably going to go in the 200 gal. range at a minimum. Right now I'm doing too much traveling for my kid's karate, and I don't want to leave a tank with that big of an investment sitting unattended for days at a time.

Get rid of this. It will catch and eat your fish. My daughter used her money to buy a coral beauty and that bastard ate it. That was $60 or her money down the drain. The fish shops will tell you that they don't eat fish but they either don't know or lie about it.

They are a pain in the arse to try and catch too.

I have a 55 gallon. Unfortunately, I had to reduce my fish to 2 jack dempsey cichlids because they've gotten so large. Another year or two and I may have to find someone to take the male. He's just getting too big to keep in there and he occasionally beats up on the female.

It sure doesn't take long to spend some serious $$$ on a saltwater tank. Yeah if I ever see that damn crab swipe at one of my fish it is going to be taken out and smashed
