I had two growing up, well really a fish bowl and a 46 gallon aquarium my uncle bought. Miss that old thing, but now I'm really thinking of investing in a pond or another big aquarium. Just something nice to watch.

I have a 70 gallon with a stand that is setup for a lizard right now that I would sell cheap. I have it in storage. I have had it for a long time. I have had Bass, white perch, regular aquarium style fish. The last thing was a bearded dragon.

Salt is more of everything I used to tell people (worked in pet shops through high school and collage) More $,more work, more equipment, more color, more diversity and so on. I had a 110gal reef for about 9 years before katrina killed it all off. Now I do fresh water...less stress and cost. When I worked at shops I got salt at cost...and thats about 1/3 of what its sold for in stores...at least.

Some older pics of some of the fish in the 375

With out any flash a few came out ok

I am planning on picking up a tank or 2 just to have. Way too good of a deal to pass up.

ETA: what would you breed? I'm thinking about breeding some peacock cichlids

I've had tanks most of my life. I have been working in the pet industry for the past 18 years, so I have had some killer setups. My best was a reef tank I had for about 3 years. I also had a LRO tank with a snowflake eel that I watched grow from 6" to over 18". I only have reptiles set up in my office right now and a 90 gallon semi aquatic with turtles and a few fish. Once I get some time, I plan on doing a kick arse nano reef at the house.

This, also what type of fish do well in this type of tank? Hell a 55 gallon for $55, can't be beat. Definitely going to try swing through there. Any other big sales there?

You can pretty much do any type of environment in this setup. Just research the amount of fish you can have in a 55 gallon. (by the inch) You can do salt or fresh in a 55.

Also, do not mix coldwater fish with tropical fish for many reasons.

If you are doing a basic freshwater tanks, I would say for lights, filter, substrate, and décor, you are looking at about 200 bucks on the low side. Don't skimp on filtration.

I used to buy from here all the time....they have really good prices....at least they used to. You can do some price shopping.

I was breeding mainly sa/ca cichlids...african peacocks are pretty easy too and people look to buy them. They have a local site for fish people in louisiana SELAS

I only got my tank and some fish from there. Everything else I get from amazon.

And Ramrod, I bought the tank from there for $55. Then between heater, filter, filter cartridges, gravel, top, air pump, light I've probably spent around $300.
But I bought the gravel and heater from Petco which was more pricey than I could've bought them for online. I also spent $100 on a light. So it all depends on if you can find good deals or not.

I would definitely check amazon for everything before buying in store

aquadvisor.com will help you with any stocking questions regarding how much you can fit in the tank

Just remember with arowanas they jump like crazy if I remember correctly. So if you have any spots where the hood doesn't cover it, figure out a way to keep them from jumping out of that hole or you'll come home to find him on the floor one day.
