What are your thoughts ? I have a tikka t3 lite .270 WSM with Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40

Great hunting rifle , yet a lot of people I know have no idea what a tikka is when I tell them .

Wanted something different than a Rem700 and tikka has a great smooth action , free floating barrel and 1" group out of box .. What's not to like ?!

Limited brands and kinds of bullets. $$$ of bullets. I lovemy .270 WSM but find it hard to practice with $1.50-$2.00 per round ammo.

Awesome gun, especially for the price. I have the T3 lite .270wsm also, with a Minox ZA3 scope, shooting Nosler Accubonds.

270 Winchester here. Nikon Monarch 2.5x10x50. I prefer it to my browning xbolt in most cases.

I used to have one and I've shot plenty of them. They are some excellent rifles that will outshoot many rifles costing twice as much. Can't suggest them enough to anybody.

270WSM with a Zeiss conquest 4.5x14-44.... I love it but am looking at the Benelli R1 rifle.

the r1 is a nice rig, but i can guarantee that you will lose accuracy going from a tikka bolt to a semi auto( not enough to mess up a hunt). those benelli's do look awesome though and i have heard the recoil is extremely low.

I've heard the R1's are not very impressive. I think the BAR gets the best reviews everywhere.

Have the .270 win T3 Super Light (has a fluted barrel, and different stock, weighs less than six pounds)stainless with camo stock and a sworvoski z3 scope, absolutely love it, adjusted the trigger to 2 1/2 pounds, and a friend of mine worked up a custom load, It is shooting a 3/4" group at 200 yards (on a lead sled)it is unbelievable.

The guy that worked up my loads, who used to "accurize" rifles for a living, was pushing me to get a Rem 700, but after he dialed in the T3 he said he has never seen a gun shoot that good out the box and his next rifle would be a T3

I have a Browning A bolt that I have shot for years, and it is no comparison that the T 3 is much better

the only things I do not like about it is the safety and the magazine sticks out of the bottom just a little, I prefer the brownings detachable magazine with the floor plate

I love the tikka safety

I don't like the plastic clipazine, but that's partly why it's so cheap. They built a very good barrel, action, and trigger and cut corners everywhere they could on non-crucial stuff. Doesn't bother me. You're getting a bottom end sako for $600.

T3 30-06 with a Leupold VXII scope or something like that. Its a killing machine, when it shoots, deer drops. I shot an apple from 642 yards in 13 mph winds.

I did a lot of research before I got my last rifle and it came down to the T3 Lite and Browning A-Bolt Stainless Stalker. I ended up getting the A-Bolt as a gift, so never had to make the decision. I remember the T3 being an excellent gun with many many good reviews and at a better price point than the Browning. I also remember there being something about the bolt lugs that multiple people said could be an issue some day, but can't recall exactly what the issue was. The 1" group guaranteed from the factory was a nice reassurance though and says a lot about what they think of the weapon they designed. I believe Tikka is made by Sako/Beretta.

I am also looking for a semi auto. I have been a browning and benelli guy my whole life. I have browning rifles, browing gold hunter, benelli SBE. I just recently bought myself a Benelli M R1. This is the tatical verison of the R1 rifle chambered in 5.56. It will blow your mind how little this gun kicks compared to a colt or daniel defense AR. It's smooth and everything you would expect from a Benelli Rifle.

With that being said, I will be buying a browning bar .308 for next hunting season.
