Yea, the marsh wont give me any problems, its just the ride past carr dr and back! It is a mudmotor, but i can run about 24 with the bowfishing setup on it and 4 people. I just know how choppy it looks sometimes. And........NO FLOTATION! so it could get interesting if i get out there on a calm night and the winds pick up while fishing.

Just really looking for somewhere closer than leeville everytime we want to shoot some reds. I live in Baton Rouge and want to find some closer places. Thanks for the help!

All I'm going to tell you is that the water smells like SHAT!! It's all stagnant rain water.... It has gone down hill the past couple years since some clown got control of the locks. I wouldn't waste my time honestly. But if you feel the need to see for yourself, kayak away!!

I have a PD 36 on an 18x48 boat and wish I would have went 20'.... I hunt / fish out of it nearly every day I'm off ( shift worker). Keep in mind that if you say your gonna be hunting out of it and carrying a load all the time (hunters plus dekes and dog) a boat smaller than 17' and undersized motor combo is terrible at carrying a load like that! Hell i have the 36 and with a full load i am lucky to run 18mph whereas 30 unloaded! Just food for thought!

Goin there tomorrow..... been hearing they havent been catching any fish. Anyone got any suggestions, i have never fished there.

Well the reason i asked that is because the last 2 years i have hunted the lake when water was present, and launched at the older woman's house off hwy 74. Also i know that some people hunted there opening weekend last week...... so i went to make an evening hunt today and the launch was closed. Didnt know if anyone had any scoop on why it was closed.
