Saw a young cub along the Hwy 90 in Patterson, LA. (St.Mary Parish).

A friend of mine lives south of 90 in Patterson, He has to have a bear-proof garbage can because the neighborhood had bears getting into them.

Like I said, y'all are lucky to see them considering how many are there.

I know what you go through. Alaska is different. You shouldn't be allowed to post in this thread

Seriously.....hv only seen scat/prints here. I'm sure they have seen me though, just like cougars.

I can guarantee you that more bears see you than you see of them. They are very stealthy for such a large animal.

From the people I know I have to think that estimate is way off or they are all seeing the same bear. Most of the reports i hear are close to Morganza area and around the basin.

Why? They're basically vegetarians. Bears don't bother me, of course they aren't an unknown to me. Probably why....

I was mistaken. The apparent TOTAL number is 400-700, with 300 located in Tensas.

He clawed the frick out of my climbing seat, knew i was there. Even stopped to look up at me basically telling me to get the frick out of his turf. Even if they are harmless, they are still a big wild arse creature and I was a virgin hunter at the time.

Didn't say they were harmless
At least you had a gun. Every time I've seen one I was unarmed. Bears to you are like alligators to people around here. Mostly an unknown. Things that aren't known can be scary.

dude, quit acting like you are some kind of bear wrangler....

Bears are wild animals, they dont care who you are or where you're from...they are curious animals and if they get close enough to you they can frick you up without really trying to......and if for one second they feel threatened, vegetarian or not they will kill you
