We had live and those matrix shad going. Nadda

Saw a 2 man boat limit out in about an hour. They were in a spot where we would only piss them off. Waited til they caught their 50, moved on in...only were able to get 3 specks

Just got back to the camp from a little offshore action! Seas were calm, water was clean and the fish were biting!
Gonna drink a few beers and clean some fish!

Is there a place I can bring my 12 year old boy to catch specks without a boat? No GI experience.

You were further east than me.
I fished at a little white wheelchair rig near the big rig off Alligator point. I'm not complaining, but they were biting funny; I could barely feel them biting, the big ones bit softer than the little ones and just bit the tail half the time; I had to fish super slow jiggin near the bottom, failed to set the hook on most hits and lost plenty at the net/boat. I felt retarded until I counted to 25.

We limited on reds at causeway, pretty much dropped straight down an avocado/red H&H cocahoe between the two outside piles. Caught or hung one damn near every set for a while. They surfaced a few times chasing, but never got on specs, water was dirty and not much tide moving. Guy was waiting on his buddy to pick him up a launch said they were catching specks at north shore hump on live. Heard hwy 11 you had to take a number to get a spot.

Full moon, rising tide peaking about noon, so they should be biting from early till at least 10:30-11ish

You can have that shite. Those yats are bad enough at the launch, I have no desire to fish next to that many. I got encircled a couple years back, Vic and Natlies at all o'clock.

I hear ya brah, I'm one of em and I was glad to have a little rig to myself this mawnin. Da only thing worse than the tresles is when they all stack up at seabrook.

We were out there from 7-8am. Not a single bite on live or matrix shad under popping cork. Every boat that we could see, not one was landing a fish. We gave up and went out into lake Borne

Anyone have success in Cocodrie?

We came in at 10 am. fricking wind was brutal. Water looked like vomit and coffee.

Very frustrating. Then again it is fishing.
