I like everything about the 5r but wish it was all black the green webbing stock with the matte stainless finish leaves a little to be desired. Ill probably end up with the 5r or the ar10t

There is a cerakoted 5R, the stainless is black. Its only from one distributor. Ill try to find the model/distributor, but it probably wont happen for a few days.

Well if he can shoot moa, why not have a gun that can do it? I stated a fact about my personal favorite gun on his list. And what's wrong with having an ar to shoot multiple times at pigs? I missed the humor.

I never said he couldnt, most cant though. MOA is MOA, MOA is not I shot a 1" group today but have never in the 1000 rounds through this rifle just this one time. Most people are not MOA shooters depstie what they believe. Its not a one time thing, its an everytime thing.

Thats cool, I didnt say anything about the gas guns, until after.

Watching youtube videos of dudes in texas shooting multiple pigs does not equate to the everyday hunter shooting multiple pigs on the run. See my comment above about moa shooters, most can shoot one mover, when it comes to multiple... More than likely a bolt gun will work just fine. My actually encourage more humane shots than a gas gun.

Yep. The LR Pmags are the best AR10 308 mags on the market. They have the same rugged reliability as the standard 5.56 mags.

The M&P10 has a very thin profile barrel so weight will be very low.

And don't worry about not having a solid stock. You can always add a rifle buffer tube and stock if you want. Two advantages of a telescoping stock:

1. You can fit it in more gun cases.
2. You can fit it to more shooters.

I would also get the M&P10 over ther Armalite AR10 because it has ambi controls and a melonite-lined barrel, which is supposed to be the new thing (and better than chrome lining they say).

Go ahead and drop $1,700 on the m&p10. It's an easy win. Semi auto, looks awesome, ambi controls, reliable, shoots under 1" groups at 100 yards. What more could you ask for except for it to cost less?

I like these. Thinking about getting one myself.

The only way I would get a 308 is if it was an auto, If its a bolt action there is 20 other rounds I would get before it.

Why is that? What rounds would you choose over the .308.

I would get the 700 police if you like light bullets and the 5R if you like heavy bullets.
I just found out about the 5R a few weeks ago and really like the idea of a slightly off spec M24 barrel. I like heavy bullets.

Armalite - pick your favorite of the 2.

Next choice would be the M&P.

Still boycotting Remington.

All kidding aside, that's seriously good advice. If I had more ammo, I would.

Welcome to OB, home of the 1/2 moa 20 pig kill shooters with one shot.

I also miss the humor. I've killed multiple pigs on a few occasions with a bolt gun. I know for a fact the number would have been higher with a semi auto. I never ever practice multiple shots with a bolt, yet was still able to do it. Pigs don't always take off in one huge pack at the first sound of a shot.

I want to shoot anywhere from 150gr to 180gr bullets.

Another thing to consider: The Remington 700 police 26" heavy barrel and the Remington 700 5R 24" both come in 20" versions. How much of a difference is the extra barrel length over 20" going to make when shooting between 300-500yards max?

The M1A is banned in the communist state that I live in... otherwise getting a M1A would be a no brainer.
