I lived in Chattanooga a little while. Cool little town for a few months. Thats about it. Much rather NC if your going that direction. Hard to argue with Roger after seeing his pic though

We both like Chattanooga too. Plenty of employment opportunities for both of us and still drivable to see family.
But I keep seeing a lot of Idaho suggestions and I do like that idea a lot. It's a long way from home, but we kind of want a change.
Maybe we'll try to take a trip westward soon and visit some cities.

I could not see me living outside of the south. It's just part of me and I love it. I live in one of the Memphis burbs and am within driving distance to saltwater fishing in the gulf, coldwater trout fishing in either TN mountains or the AR ozarks, freshwater fishing for SM bass or LM Bass in the TN an hour east, great deer hunting and turkey hunting, and some of the best duck hunting in the world just west over the river.
If I didn't live here I really don't think I could pick a better location.
And I like Memphis as well.

Stay in Alabama. Alabama needs smart, artsy fartsy yoga people like you and your wife. If you leave, Alabama's IQ will drop one point. You like falconry. Your only a few hours from Atlanta, hello.

I've never really been outside of Louisiana but if I had the choice it would probably be North Arkansas or West Texas. Different enough from NWLA but not so much that I'd have to relearn how to live.

Asheville NC is filled with hippies that would love yoga. Great outdoors area.

Hell, I am looking to downsize from Juneau, looking for a smaller town like Haines which is about 80 miles north of here and little more wild, less developed.
My brother spent 3 weeks in Haines last April while heli-skiing. He wouldn't shut up about it when he got back to CA.

Yes, my wife has actually done some of her yoga training in that area. Eastern TN or western NC are both good possibilities.

If you don't go west, Asheville would be my #1 choice.
Or Portland, Maine.

Lake Tahoe, Sante Fe NM Incredible outdoor opportunities in winter and summer. Both have major populated cities within and easy hour.

You'd probably be best moving west. There's lots of public lands for outdoors activities out there. I wouldn't worry about finding a yoga friendly locale, there's weirdos everywhere plus she'll prolly fall for some hippy vegan and leave you in a couple years anyways.

My wife is a weird semi-hippie. She likes her men manly.
