I always have a sense of humor even if it is at my own expense. Some people were taking that stuff I was posting the other day way too serious. All in good fun.

2nd shot? Probably try to ear hole them from now on. Or shoot his balls off...take away his will to live.

My oldest son was asked to help find a doe right after he got to the truck, the shooter was to bring his bow with him to finish it when they found it if necessary. They found it but the shooter left his bow and only my sone had a 6 inch knife. It was in a creek raising its head and was trying to get up but couldn't. My son had to do the deed. It was not a quick kill and was not pretty.

Interesting that you hunt alot with handguns. Id like to start doing that as well. What do you hunt with? .44 mag revolver? .357? 10mm like some on this site fancy? I have my eyes on a Ruger Blackhawk Bisley Hunter .44mag.

dnm,
When I first started deer hunting w/ handguns I was using a Ruger Redhawk in 44 Mag w/ a 2X Leopold. I clean missed the only deer I shot at w/ this set up. The next season my brother in law sold me his T/C Contender in 35 Remington w/ a Leopold 4X scope. It was a deer killer. Over the next 10 yrs or so I gradually transitioned to where all my deer hunting was done w/ handguns. I killed a bunch of deer w/ various Contender barrels. I bought a Savage Striker in 308 and used it a lot, as well. The last few years I've been transitioning to using Remington XP-100's. My last rifle deer kill was probably >15 years ago. I also prairie dog hunt w/ handguns.

The most difficult thing about handgun hunting is learning to use the scope. It takes a LOT of practice. The T/C Encore would make a good platform for the beginning handgun hunter. For close range use, I'd rec a 44 Mag; if one's good w/ open sights and the range is short, a scope may not be necessary. The BH Bisley Hunter would be a fine gun, although w/ some limitations. If you decide to take up the challenge of handgun hunting, start practicing w/ a 22 LR.

Lots of good handgun hunting info at the Specialty Pistols Forums

Judging from some of the stories in my other post, I think I'm gonna start shooting for the earhole.

You are very right, but I only shoot head shots looking at me or away. It is pretty much hit or miss. and I shoot bucks in the same manner unless they are wall worthy.

Dnm,
I forgot to mention that CVA also has pistol barrels that fit their Scout V2 frame.
