Anything from tractor supply is going to be rather light duty but they have them.

Ascension equipment in Gonzales or 4H in denham will have more options for better quality. Definitely worth to spend the money to get one with a slip clutch vs a shear pin. If you don’t the first time your beating a sheared bolt out the shaft in a field you will remember this post. Lol.

I know the tractor supply models are kind of thin.

Hoping for a made in USA deck and at least a warranty on the gearbox

There is a new implement place on 61 coming into Woodville that has a ton of stuff. Passed by late the other night it’s just south of the kubota dealership.

If you get a Bush Hog get a 215 for all around use or a 315 if you’re cleaning something up. A Rhino TW25 would be close to as good. Woods, LandPride and many others make fine implements as well.

Do NOT, NOT, NOT buy one from Tractor Supply. You NEVER buy something from a place that doesn’t assemble it or service it (and damn sure won’t know anything about it).

Avoid the bottom models of any brand (ie the 1 series in a Bush Hog or Rhino, but it goes with most any brand). The exception to this rule is Brown Manufacturing out of Ozark AL. They make the famous Tree Cutter that most use for power line right of ways. They have very strong gear boxes but what makes them is the pan that holds the blades. It’s an inch thick and weighs like 700 lbs by itself.

Call Lemann’s in Donaldsonville- Cameron should be there tomorrow. Woods and Land Pride- both American made, not junk with good warranty.

Condition and price?

I figured a bush hog was out of my price range.

Seen YouTube videos of a TS flail brush cutter, brand new pulls off a gear cover and nothing but rust. Opens gear box oil plug, almost no oil and full of moisture and more rust.

If you are looking to cut grass and light brush any bush hog will do. If you have anything over 1 1/2" diameter get a heavy duty with a slip clutch.

If you want to cut heavy, get something like the Trailblazer Max. It mounts on your front lift arms and is powered by a hydraulic power unit connected to your 3pt hitch and your PTO.

We have them at Hill’s Equipment in Livingston. We carry Lowery (LMC) brand. It’s American made out of Boaz Alabama and we also are a woods dealer, but they haven’t shipped our load of equipment yet. This is a family owned business my Powpow started 52 years ago. He’s 89 this month and still working there putting equipment together, we just help him out now. Go check out our Facebook page on Hill’s Equipment. Stop in and check us out, we’re undergoing a massive remodel, but we have some neat stuff in and ordered, including hunting things.
Thanks!
