2012 Silverado 1/2 ton 83,000 miles
It’s a decent truck. Haven’t done anything but change ball joints to it.
Recently bought an old square body GMC that technically is drivable, but I started taking it apart for restoring it.

Trade it in before your transmission goes. You’re almost to the sweet spot.
Or, you could fix the transmission IF it goes out and then not be in the hole for $50,000.

Just offering up some advice to not have to drop $8500 on a new transmission.
This is no joke, every single person I know with a GM 8 speed had to replace their transmission between 80k and 130k miles.

I’d pay a premium to get one of these that isn’t ragged out.
Mine is pretty well used, but it’s not in terrible shape. It’s perfect for me. I use it to haul my goose trailer and bring customers to the blinds. It’s been a great rig. I’m not sure what I’m going to do when she finally goes.

Mine went out at 87000 miles. Truck was paid for and the rebuild was $3600. I’m at 210,000 miles now with no other issues.

Hope to make it to 300K
I definitely get some looks driving this old truck. Runs well, paid off a long time ago. It’s been mine since October 2010. I don’t have a mileage goal, just want to make it to my second out of three into public school (8/2025). I’ll probably keep until October 2025 just so I can say I had it 15 years.
