I killed one several years ago with my bow, I had the taxidermist mount it “bear skin rug” style and it’s hanging on the wall at the camp

There was a dead one on the side of the road on hwy. 51 a few weeks ago. Looked like it was hit by a car or truck.

You can skin the cat and tan it yourself. Make a nice something to a hunting camp. I did it at 16. Just skinned all the way out. covered in salt and a little borax. Rolled up and froze, when ready thawed it out, scraped it down, tacked on a board and let it do its thing. Was stiff as all hell, but always really pretty for years.

Rub it down with glycerin and it will soften the hide up.

Great video thx for posting that. Cats are so dang cool to watch do their thing. It’s crazy how close house cats are to big cats in mannerisms, play, hunting, etc. So was he not getting bit, or bobcats have venom resistance?

If I knew how to post a picture I would post one of the one I had done a couple of years ago. Guy in Orange tx did it. I thought it turned out pretty good. Price was just under a $1000
