What the hell goes thru the woods and sounds like a kid EDIT/Bird

Been hearing this creature making this sound almost like a kid saying “rat” kinda like a bird sometimes, but is on the ground. Apparently not scared of light or humans. Moves around pretty good and you can tell when it faces a different direction by the sound level.

It’s in the woods. Same area for weeks. Obviously hard to describe. Not any water anywhere close.

Sounds like a bobcat or cougar. they can sound like a baby crying, little kid or something. There is crane too that has a rrrrrat rrrat rratt call.
