2 3/4” #4 steel full choke all terrain.

3" #4 Kent Fasteel out of my A390 with IC choke.
Also the Herters 3" #4 shoot just as good when I can't get fasteel.
We don't ever get geese in Central TX. Rarely mallards. But I've ran this combo 10plus years now and I shoot pretty dang good with it.

Modified choke.
Shotz ammo pulverizer 8 shot.
Melts anything from teal to honkers.

#4 for early season then #3 Black Cloud later. Accidentally found out that I shoot ducks best with my skeet tube.

I thought this was not recommended for steel?

I don’t like cripples and it doesn’t turn smaller birds into minced meat. It’s not really that bad as far as the pellets in the meat go.

Same basic scenario as you. We all shoot IC for wood ducks and Mod for Marsh and either #4, 5, 6. And of those 3 we mainly shoot #6's 75% the time. Haven't shot a full choke or tighter at a duck in 20+ years. All shots 40yds and in. For Geese we keep a few boxes of #2's around.

Teal birds: Briley TNT choke with Rio #6 3”
Ducks/Geese: Ron Roberts T2 with Boss 3” #5
Crane: Roberts T3 with 3.5” #2

Hunt with a friend that shoots these. Seems like every dang time I clean a bird he shot, those pellets are fragmented all inside the breast. It's wild.

Have not seen this with Boss. There are about 10 of us in the club shooting Boss.
Wonder if that is the copper jacket ripping off the pellet?

I actually took a picture of one last weekend after I brought it up hunting one morning. It's possible he got a bad run though, as I think he bought a couple cases together a few years ago.

Boss is known to fragment. It’s good stuff but it’s not worth the money.

I shoot 2 3/4" # 6 winchester steel out of a full choke 30 inch wingmaster, and on windy days or late season #4 lead out of the same gun.
Just kidding Mr. Green jeans, those # 6 steel pattern really well with my gun.

Rob Roberts of Rob Roberts Gunworks. Roberts said for the most part, you can shoot 3 and 4 steel through a Full choke with no problem. Big shot, however, can be a different story with Full choke, at least in extreme cases.
I’m not shooting the stock full. I’m shooting a kick ported high flyer made from 17-4
Stainless steel.

I shoot 3s or 4s and have the full Rob Robert's choke set that I use depending on setup and targeted species. Most of the time I shoot the long range. And lately I've been on some cheap arse Nobel Sport J&G from Spain for $120/case.

I guided for 15 years and my absolute go to was 1 3/8 #1 shot out of a fixed full choke. We were shooting mainly big ducks and specks. For most people I would say 2/34 inch # 3
