I've read that the experts have some irregularly shaped pellets and have steered away from them since. Might have been BS, but the patterning wasn't great when I've tried it.

Usually Kent or Estate 3" #3's. Usually buy online for about $110 shipped which is cheaper than driving to Cabela's and paying sales tax and gas money. NTM I don't buy all kinds of other stuff and lose two hours of time.

I just got a case of

#2 shot for the season in 3". I'm looking forward to trying them out. I have a couple boxes of 2 3/4" Estate #4s as well for cripples/guests.

I'm interested to see how this works. May buy a box

To the OP: I've said time and time again...whatever you shoot, stay consistent. With the varying muzzle exit velocities ranging anywhere from 1100 to 1700 fps, it can mess with your leads, range, pattern, etc. Buy a few boxes of standards rounds (Estates, Winchester, Kents) and pattern your gun with a good choke.

Personally, I shoot Kents #2 3" shells.

Xpert 3 inch #3's. Tried that expensive Black Cloud, but makes no different IMO. You either a good shot or you not.

Estate 2 & 3/4 #4s. If you have a good choke and you are on the bird it will fall regardless of what you are shooting. You do not need 3 or
3 & 1/2 mags to take down a duck. Remember its not the shell its the shooter

Get a good choke like Patternmaster, go to the skeet or sporting clay range as many times as you can before season and don't take shots over 30 yds.

I wasted money on Black Clouds last year.

Went back to my old faithful Estate 3 1/2" #3s.

From what I've seen and heard, it looks like most are willing to try out some higher end shells but for those that hunt A LOT it's just not reasonable to blow through a couple cases a year of $200-$250/case shells. I'm curious to try Blindside, got some 3" #2's for $21 or so but they'll have to really tear some shite up for me to invest in a case. Otherwise, I'll shoot Xperts and Sportsman steel, Kent, etc. all day long. Keep an eye out for bargains on shells online when February and March roll around. You can get some high end stuff for CHEAP and usually free shipping, no taxes.
