7' m power/mod action for corks, topwaters for reds
7' ml power/mod action for trout top water
7' m/mh power/fast tip for jig heads/bottom fishing

Could go down to 6'6" on any of those but i like longer rods in saltwater for longer casts

Falcon hd 7' med/mod is a great all around inshore rod in both spinning or casting.

ETA: since youll be throwing braid, I really dont think you need a mh unless targetting reds specifically. People tend to over-power rods in general imo.

A good all around is a 7' medium, fast action rod. But I try to look for a few different. I like medium action rods to throw lighter baits. I also like a shorter (6'6") rods for my baitcasters when fishing smaller canals where I'm making a lot of short casts on the bank.

I don't get quite as into as bass fisherman do with a different rod for each type of bait. I'm not that advanced in my fishing techniques quite yet.

You got the bat signal...

At my current rate, I fish saltwater once per year. Although its not often, I wouldnt mind getting a couple of dedicated rods for it.

Looks like the Falcon HD is the winner.

All of the rods i mentioned i use similar rods quite extensively in bass fishing. The med/mod is a great shallow crankbait rod. The ml/mod is perfect for throwing small moving baits or topwater especially at smaller spotted bass while float fishing, and a 7' med/fast action rod is a great weightless plastics rod for senkos, crawfish, trick worms and great for light (3/16oz and under) tx rigs as well. None of that has to be dedicated saltwater gear. Aint nobody got time for dat.

Falcon does make a very good rod. I am a very big fan if St Croix rods but you won't go wrong with either.

If you're throwing jig heads and soft plastics for trout, don't go any heavier than medium. Everyone I know fishes with ML or L.

Agreed. A 7' L/fast tip rod would make a good wacky finesse rod for bass too. Either a spinning or casting.

Duce Twisted fishing rods

Did you buy these directly from the guy who makes them? I googled this rod and didn't find too much info, are they worth the extra cost?

My only criteria for a rod is that it can't be split grip. HATE EM

Anyone use the Shimano Compre? Someone recommended this rod, but I've never heard of it.

The split grip sits better in my hand plus they allow you to feel a lot more.

Any opinions on Waterloo rods?

Picked up a 7' Medium Waterloo Salinity to pair with a new Curado 200HG. It was really lightweight and I liked the shorter rod butt. Plan to use it for jigs and topwater.

As for split grip vs. full cork. . . I have both and use both- and they both catch fish. No preference of one over as long as the length of the grip isn't absurdly long.

I wade fish quite a bit, 6'5" Castaway Skeleton Wader Special Medium

ETA: The new Castaway Invicta with the Winn Golf Grips for handles look pretty legit
