I’m interested in a big green egg but not sure if it’s worth the price.

I cooked for the longest on a Weber Kettle. Makes awesome BBQ honestly.

I now cook on a Kamado Joe Jr and a Big Joe 3. I would start with a Kettle and if you find you are using it a ton, upgrade to something better. Weber Kettle or Weber Performer with a slow n sear is a great option.

Weber also makes a Kamado that is great as well.

Primo

It’s around 13 years old. Built to last.

I've cooked using a Weber kettle and a primo Jr for as long as I can remember. I may upgrade to a pellet grill soon. I've never owned a propane grill.

I have the sams club version of the BGE. Paid $299 for it on clearance about 5 years ago. Works great. Not as fancy, but not near as expensive either.

I have the large big green egg.

I'd get the xlarge or oval primo though if I got one again.

I did just get one of those temp controller things. I've only used it once though.

I like the egg. It's not perfect, but it holds heat for sure.

I have a really small propane grill for quick stuff after work.

Blaze natural gas. However, I bought a griddle insert from bbq guys and use the grill more now than I did before.

Are you looking for a set it and forget it, then go with the Recteq.

Will it be your only grill? This helps understand how versatile it needs you be

I have the Monolith which is no longer being sold in the US. I'd get the Big Joe.

Academy carrying a komodo smoker now. Half the price of a bge.
I’ve had my large egg since 97 and like the results but everything is really expensive.
Neighbor gave me an original PK charcoal that they didn’t use and it is my new go to grill. Can be cooking in ten minutes after lighting the charcoal chimney. Does a great job
